"UNPRECEDENTED demand Seen them a few times; Knebworth, Wembley, Earls Court . Knebworth was too big, Wembley was alright, Earl’s Court was excellent. Think I might have seen them somewhere else too but can’t remember."
".. im guessing more dates will be added due to PHENOMENAL demand .. in the old days it was due to huge demand, or massive demand - now all bands must say PHENOMENAL ."
"Eastside surge 9:10 Tue Aug 27 Re: Oasis - let’s get the band back together. It probably sounds silly, but I don’t care/remember what most artists sound like live, you go, get pissed with your mates/missus and sing your lungs out to a load of songs you love."
"Fauxstralian 8:44 Tue Aug 27 I would imagine that there are more dates on standby, ready to be announced if the first batch sell out as fast as most believe they will."
"Loved the first two albums, the others that followed not so good in my humble. Saw a clip of Liam performing at Reading over the weekend and I know he's never had the best voice but he was literally just shouting the song and sounded terrible. Over a hundred quid or so for a ticket? I don't think so"
"Was talk yesterday of 10 concerts in Manchester & 10 at Wembley Seems now there are 2 each at Cardiff, Murrayfield & Dublin with just 4 each at Manchester & Wembley So .... half as many as Taylor Swift did at Wembley No word as to which brother will be performing in a sparkly dress , cowboy boots and hat"
"Mr Kenzo 6:13 Tue Aug 27 Call me cynical but those involved in the business side of this are likely to have had the thought that the kids who were into them first time round, will now likely have better jobs and a much higher disposable income. I always find it interesting that ticket prices for any band seem to closely follow the key demographic that will be the core purchasers of those tickets. I doubt this will be any different."
My daughter likes them so I may try to get two tickets so I can take her. I was living in Manchester at the height of their popularity and thought they were meh. Always preferred them to Blur though.
"what u want to look out for is any strange oasis linked named bands or strange named bands popping up at roundhouse or brixton or even maybe koko couple of weeks before the first major gig in Cardiff. they will want to do some secret warm up show. i will go againsrt the grain of the majority here and say the gigs will be fucking brilliant but yes, maybe better to book one of the earlier shows just in case it goes belly up. from what ive heard, its a very fragile ""make up"""
Niblets 5:50 Tue Aug 27 Re: Oasis - let’s get the band back together. Funny how much noise people who apparently don't give a fuck or think they're shit have been making since all this was announced. Worse than vegans and non-drinkers. Spot on
"Generational thing, isn’t it? If you’re an 80’s kid, the likelihood is they were the first major band you got into, and will always be nostalgic about. They represented a bit of a feel good factor, along with Euro 96, etc. To call them shit is just being extra edgy, and comparing them to bands prior to them is only really reflective if you’re from that generation. They have more than a few very good songs."
