Russell Brand
Dispatches tonight could be about him so he has jumped in first dismissing claims and rumours and saying anything he did in past was consensual. No doubt it will be said that this is The Matrix coming after him due to his opposition to mainstream media.

Re: Russell Brand
"It's actually quite heartening to see how many of you seem to see the media stitch up going on here. Well done. I was the drummer in a punk band from the age of about 17 to 30ish and thank fuck we didn't get famous, I'd be on a special wing in prison going on today's puritanical witch hunt society. Remember, RB at that time was one of the most famous people in the world, good looking, rich and by his own admission a man with an addictive personality. Does anyone REALLY think he ever had to pursue or groom a girl or woman? Coerce a woman into bed? Even the women who claimed he raped said that they willingly fucked him and the two that said he raped them both said 'he came at me naked and started kissing me and it was all great fun at first but then...' I don't know about you, but I have had (one) girl (also from Grays actually!) who said 'no' after half an hour of foreplay and right at the point of entry where I stopped, she grabbed my arse and put it in herself. I have had girls wearing all the kit who again right at the point of entry have stopped me and said 'you can stop if you like but I am married/engaged/ even 'lesbian normally' and this can only happen once.... Women are fucking MENTAL. Isn't that part of the reason they are so great?"

Re: Russell Brand
"The thing that the general public do not understand about show business and media is that pretty much everyone in the game are very different to normal people and have a whole different outlook on life, morality etc. Women outside of those circles cannot believe that any woman would willingly want to do the things that they do in that world. They do not believe that their agency is genuine. So when I'm explaining to someone outside of the industry that I know of stories where girls backstage are literally begging to suck anyones cock at a show (the fucking session players even, doesn't matter as long as they were on stage), they look at me in disbelief. Its funny that in the Brand doc, no one ever questions why after he got his cock out for the runner at work, as disgusted as she was apparently (which is why its part of the story) she still went on to willingly fuck him later. It's a different world. Thats all I will say. You can't judge the celeb/media world with what normal people do. It's all completely different."

Re: Russell Brand
"It cannot be a simple coincidence that the establishment/media go after a personality that has the audacity to question them/their motives, yet let other personalities, who have acted in basically the same way (for far longer) but do not question the establishment/media's motives get a free pass. My only, and very tenuous, connection to the entertainment business is that a lodger of mine was once a roadie for a group that had a number 1 single in the 70s, and his best (but very gay) mate was the sound engineer for a singer who started out in a 60s RnB/pop band and was still going strong at that time. The tour stories they came out with (while we were all stoned) left me with the lasting impression that Brand's activities in that business arena are - not were, but are - the norm, not the exception. The movie ""Almost Famous"", although comedic in nature, does drop a few clear hints."

"Still wondering how Bill Wyman has evaded media scrutiny. Apparently according to the media the victim doesn't even have to want to press charges as long as we think something bad happened. (Greenwood). So who doesn't think something dodgy happened with Wyman and Mandy Smith considering they were ""dating"" when she was 13 and he was 48? Why aren't the press on this?? oh they were the ones publicising it! they were on Good Morning Britain ffs! this world is a madness.."

Re: Russell Brand
"There a lot of talk about left and right on here. But it isn't as simple as that binary proposition. Traditional Tory voters tend to be strongly (small 'c') conservative on economic matters and fairly conservative on social issues. Traditional Labour voters, perhaps best exemplified by the 'red wall' that deserted Labour last time around, are fairly socialist on economic matters and fairly conservative on social issues. This creates a problem, since neither group are exactly represented by the party they vote for. I would characterise the Labour Party as very (not 'far') left on both social and economic policy. Fuck knows where the Tories are - economically centrist and socially liberal is my best guess - though those on the left will disagree. My point is, you can't just bandy about the terms 'left' and 'right' when talking about the Brand scandal. For what it's worth, I have no doubt that Brand has been an utter scum-bag at various points in his life and I wouldn't let my daughter within a mile of him. However, from what we heard last night, there is very little chance of him ever being convicted of these VERY historic allegations anything unless a whole procession of accusers can be found (not two). I would also like to point out that 16 is the age of consent for a reason. If you think it should be higher, fair enough, but at present the law is 16. Unless the young women he shagged can prove he was in a position of care (teacher, for example - not just a celebrity they were flattered to shag), he has no case to answer. There may well be good reasons to not wanting to employ him, though. Just my five penn'orth and purely my own opinion."

Re: Russell Brand
Only one post on here has shocked me. Finding out that Frank Skinner had groupies.
Re: Russell Brand
"He pisses off and questions the establishment and for that reason I like. What's wrong with having consensual/legal sex even if I agree 16 is a bit young. However consensual is the key word here. These are allegations and not charges. Until I hear of clear evidence of sexual assualt and rape I'm not interested in the media frenzy. Are we that naive to believe that he's the only guy in showbiz who has not used his position to bed lots of women, I'm sure most willingly."
Re: Russell Brand
"So have any of the ""Victims"" of Brand actually reported this to the Police or just the Press . It only seems the latter , I could be wrong here ."

"Pent. Cluster B, dark triad, yadda. You're not offering any revelations. It's screamingly obvious what RB is. He's in showbiz. Nobody who seeks fame is well-adjusted, and neither are their 'camp followers'/groupies."

Re: Russell Brand
"I've refrained from playing the I know him card as people should be able to air their opinions and are entitled to them.whether you knew him or not. I also don't want to shed light on anything that could be considered litigious and will sit back and watch this all unfold. What I can say in my experience is for most people like the majority on here and in day to day life, putting a microphone in your hand or a camera on you causes nerves or shyness or slight anxiety. It takes a certain kind of person to seek out the worlds eyes on them and that's why so many of these people have skeletons. They have a personality and an ego beyond what we can comprehend. He acted for so long in a absolutely ridiculous manner and those days are now coming to bite him in the arse. In Plain Sight was a very apt name. There are 3 more I know who must be shitting themselves this morning and I hope they are."

"Pentonville 10:05 Mon Sep 18 Spot on. Don’t get me wrong - I’m the face of it I like him too, but that’s because he is a cunning manipulative narcissist who does not show his dark side publicly for obvious reasons. That’s exactly how they operate - Uber charming to conceal their inner cuntishness It’s a hard one to compute"

Re: Russell Brand
One of the funniest things about the reporting is that they are trying to make out its some expos?© about him shagging a lot and yet he openly talked about it on books and stage and ge was named shagger of the year three years in a row. Times have changed. Even Frank Skinner no longer talks about shagging loads of his groupies graphically any more.

"Any of you who don't like the bloke and have any Essex heritage in their family tree are clearly genetically connected to him and, logically, equally responsible for his actions. You're also more likely to be genetically driven to repeat his actions at some point. You'd best hand yourself in now and accept your part in all this, the worst crime in human history, or better still, top yourself, just in case, like."

Re: Russell Brand
I wonder if there would be the same love in on here if RB was Millwall or Tottenham.
