Russell Brand
Dispatches tonight could be about him so he has jumped in first dismissing claims and rumours and saying anything he did in past was consensual. No doubt it will be said that this is The Matrix coming after him due to his opposition to mainstream media.

Re: Russell Brand
"Trundle, I’m sure you could. But I’m talking about Brand being right wing and giving examples of that when someone told me he wasn’t. But if you want Brand’s conspiracy theories, which are right wing talking points, some of them are: 9/11 being an inside job Covid conspiracies The US is at fault for the war in Ukraine 2020 Election Fraud The Biden conspiracy Big Bad Mainstream media Corrupt Nancy Pelosi, Fauci, Bill Gates, etc That’s some of the shit he spouts for clicks. Then you have the fact that he loves the likes of Jordan Peterson, Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, Ron DeSantis. So Jaan, I’m not going to argue with you is Brand is left or right. That’s your opinion and good for you. But what is an undisputed fact is that he caters to the right with his talking points. He is loved by the right, and will continue to be. It’s no surprise he’s taken a leaf out of Trumps playbook and is talking about the media coming for people for years. His fans simply believe this “attack” is the mainstream media coming for another one of theirs for simply telling the truth. As for Elon Musk - he votes money and has definitely promoted right wing agendas. Off the top of my head, promoting an anti-trans documentary, publicly shaming the ADL, promoting Tucker Carlson, calling to have Fauci arrested, pronoun bullshit. A quick google search for him and “democrat” shows that he now thinks the democrats are the party of “division and hate.” He’s also done a lot of other subtle racist shit that I can’t be bothered to go into in a Russell Beamd thread."

Re: Russell Brand
Politically he is quite obviously totally out of his depth - he's very unconvincing as anti-establishment figure and has wrecked his position as a left-wing voice as well with his cheap populism. Should really stick to shagging and going to the footie.

Re: Russell Brand
"Like someone (Surf?) said earlier, his politics have no relevance to what he's been accused of. Whether he's to the left of Marx or the right of Hitler makes no difference at all. This will quickly degenerate into another left v right arguement on here before long whilst the actual matter gets forgotten."

Stewie I’ve watched say 30-40 of his videos including football is great ( or whatever its called). He never ceases to make me laugh. Something he rarely did when he was a drugged up sex pest. I’ll come back on his politics.

"deanjcrawford 9:03 Mon Sep 18 Joe Rogan, Elon Musk and Jimmy Dore are all Democrats. They don’t pander to the right. They support a version of the left you want to suppress and therefore demonize as being right wing. Russel Brand isn’t right wing and has never supported anything establishment ever. He is basically a hippy revolutionary."

"There was a thread about musk on here a while ago, and I'm pretty sure you'll find on there that I said he's a bellend. His commentary on the 'attacks' on the platform fits that bit. But in general, I agree wholeheartedly with what he's done with twitter. Because I don't suffer from partisanship, I can like some things people do and not like others. I find the 21st century boxes somewhat limiting."

Re: Russell Brand
Don't let the fact that he's decimated Twitter revenue and is now blaming the jews for doing it interfere with your personal biases there Stewie. There's always been this overlap with Bernie on the right wing twat side and Brand certainly pushes the hysterical nonsense you see from a lot of people on here and elsewhere.

Re: Russell Brand
"They might be heroes (whatever that means...) to people to the right of you, that doesn't make them heroes to the right. Fwiw, I'm pretty sure most people on the right think brand is a cսnt, considering he spent years campaigning for a socialist egalitarian state and now spends his time trying to take down capitalism. As for Musk, anyone who has a passing interest in equality is almost certainly a fan, either right or left. It's quite astonishing, and to an extent concerning, that he's been able to run twitter with 20% of the staff that he inherited because the other 80% were doing nothing other than censoring things they didn't like."

"""You and Miike are blinded"" blinded by what? I know what he is. a bloke that was at one time one of jeremy corbyn's biggest cheerleaders. he was also engaged to the offspring of james goldsmith, jemima, who's two brothers at the time were married to a rothschild. while in this relationship with someone as establishment as you can get, he's criticising bankers on newsnight. I wouldn't trust the cսnt as far as I could throw him but far right? you clearly being a left wing nutcase should defend people's right to bodily autonomy and freedom of choice, not spouting bollocks about covid conspiracies. get this left-wing/right-wing shit out of your brain, none of them can be trusted and none of them have your best interests at heart"

"Jaan, just because Joe Rogan smoked a lot of weed and Russell Brand once wanted us to vote for Ed Milliband several years ago, doesn't mean they are left wing. I've given several examples of how he panders to the right. I could do the same with Joe Rogan, but I want to keep it focussed on Brand. Just because you choose not to believe it doesn't make it not true."

Re: Russell Brand
deanjcrawford 8:44 Mon Sep 18 Joe Rogan and Elon Musk are both perfect examples of left wingers being repositioned as right wing because they discuss what the alt left establishment want to suppress. Jimmy Dore is another. Nothing the say makes them right wing.

"Russell Brand openly champions bernie sanders as his preferred political candidate in the US Elon Musk has only ever voted democrat, has removed all censorship, and openly campaigns for equality. If these people are now considered to be right wing, then the redefinition of our political spectrum has taken on new levels and the left wing extremists are smarter than I gave them credit for."

Re: Russell Brand
"Jaan, sorry mate, but that’s a load of bollocks. Joe Rogan, Elon Musk, Andrew Tate, Russell Brand, Tucker Carlson - all poster children for the right who believe in free speech and are not part of the “mainstream media.” Righto. All you have to do is go onto social media and see who his defenders are. It’s clear as day. You and Miike are blinded. The big bad mainstream media is at it again? That’s just a grift so he can get clicks. And again, you think he’s left wing, but he makes money off of being right wing. Covid 19 conspiracies 9/11 conspiracies War in Ukraine Black Lives Matter Election fraud The bidens are corrupt The mainstream media are out to get us even though he so desperately wanted to be a part of the mainstream Using Rumble as a platform Elon Musk, Ian Cheong, Andrew Tate have supported him Pals with Ron DeSantis and Tucker Carlson That should make any right winger cream their pants. But nah, he’s a left wing revolutionary."

"Clearly he was a user (in every sense) and that much should have been obvious to anyone with an ounce of sense. I would beat fuck out of him rather than let him near my daughter but if you're over legal age and its consensual then it is what it is. You've had your feelings hurt - so have a lot of people. As for the rape allegation it's virtually impossible to prove now, so in the round it does more harm than good to othet women in a similar situation who might want to come forward in a more reasonable time frame. Ultimately in the real world your 'lived experience' of sexual, racial or any other kind of abuse don't count for shit without evidence, and if it does then we've properly lost the plot."

Re: Russell Brand
"You watch a lot of his stuff, brand0? Can't say I have. But saw a clip of him destroying capitalism in the context of covid ... saying that we have a system where fundamentally the interests of people who are supposed to solve a crisis, in this instance big pharma, cannot be aligned with the interests of the people when they stand to profit from a crisis. And that this becomes particularly acute when they fund the majority of the political campaigns on both sides. Logic is perfectly fine, but there's no compelling historical stories to suggest any other system would be better. Still, it's the first time I've heard of an anti capitalist being described as right wing... quite something, that"
