Dispatches tonight could be about him so he has jumped in first dismissing claims and rumours and saying anything he did in past was consensual. No doubt it will be said that this is The Matrix coming after him due to his opposition to mainstream media.

"Dooey. It'd be more honest of you if you said you couldnt name names rather than the rather juvenille retort, ""why should I"". As for examples of the incompetence of this government, you know full well how shambolic they have been. Poor use of a deflecting tactic on your part."

"Tucker Carlson is a prime example there. Used to play a moderate, reasonable conservative in.a bow tie on CNN. They ditched him and he landed at Fox where he slowly got more and more deranged and made more money and got more power until he finally went too far for them with his white guys don’t do that comment,"

I'm glad that the House Of Commons is looking into RB's past. This is from The Mail last year: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10726693/More-50-MPs-reported-sexual-misconduct-parliamentary-watchdog-reveals.html

"The UK was traditionally labeled a center-right country and it still is. Not sure the same is true for the US and there now this shared information/media infrastructure out that which is welcomes the extremist views and conspiracy theories and makes money off it. Slowly you are seeing the reach of the right wing extremists grow. People like Rush Limbaugh and Rupert Murdoch realized there was a market to be milked there, like Alex Jones and others as well, feeding paranoia and discontent. Probably after seeing what was getting the most clicks then Brand has headed there too."

"deanjcrawford 8:27 Tue Sep 19 The point was simply YouTube isn’t right wing. It’s the equivalent of being on the BBC. It has strict guidelines and policies, yet he’s successfully stayed within that and grown a huge number of subscribers. Rumble is right wing. Hence the point about demonetisation which you agreed with now being his only outlet. Where has has about a 5th of his YouTube audience. This is a demonstration of my point yesterday about the alt left pushing traditional left wingers to the right, like Rogan and Jimmy Dore. Which is essentially what Griffin has given a better example of."

"When watching a Brand video I have never thought “ this is a bit right wing”. Mostly rational, logical and non partisan. He even says he doesnt see eye to eye with known more right leaning commentators but is willing to have open debate and conversations. He is the polar opposite of WINGS"

"kind of agree with the first bit, CM, but i think you're mistaken about who gets fired up by race (other than the extreme right, which is more prevalent in the US than the UK) and completely mischaracterise the issue of immigration."

"A lot of the problem is that the traditional right wing conservative movement has morphed into a populist, nationalist, quasi fascist movement that mainly stirs up animosity as a route to power. It’s not a new thing historically and it’s not surprising that there are so many here who can’t see extremism in themselves, Not sure where many of you think the far right is. If you are fired up by issues of race and immigration, if you fall for numerous conspiracy theories, if you are newly finding pacifism in terms of the Ukrainian war, for example, then you may want to take a look in the mirror."

The entire Tory party is being torn apart by the far right element going after the reactionary provincial grass roots vote.

"Regarding his position on QAnon, I just watched his opinion on it so you don’t have to. Surprise surprise, he doesn’t say anything bad about the QAnon whack jobs who believe Donald Trump is the second coming of christ, and that Hollywood elites have children chained upside down in basements, draining and drinking their blood to find the fountain of youth, all while reptilian aliens roam the earth. Nope, he doesn’t say anything bad about that. But Hilary Clinton and Bill Gates! He sympathizes with QAnon. He basically says he can understand why people believe in it. Can anyone guess why? Because of a distrust of the mainstream media. FFS. I wonder why he wants to sow a distrust of the media? It’s also anti establishment, which he can understand. Yes, the right and the left have more in common than they wish to admit. Not so much in content, but in delivery. Even if you don’t want to believe it, most people pick a side nowadays, especially in the US. If you don’t want to believe his views are right wing, that’s up to you, but his most popular videos most certainly are. Why? Because like I’ve been saying all along, he knows where the money is."

To ( sort of) repeat what SG said earlier the term 'far right' is drastically overused. Can those who often spout the term name a politician or a person of real power/influence in this country?

"The fact that there's a movement to try to marginalise Brand to a channel that's been labelled ""Right Wing"" (on who's authority?) does not make Brand or his views right wing. It just means that said channel sees no desire to cancel him because of those views. Basically, they are more tolerant of differing opinions. Fucking hell! Did all you lefties stop using the phone the instant BT was privatised?"

"oops, trimmed off the full quote somehow: ""Pharmaceutical corporations like Moderna and Pfizer made $1,000 of profit every second from the COVID-19 vaccine."" ""More than two-thirds of Congress received campaign funding from pharmaceutical companies in the 2020 election. The pandemic created at least 40 new big pharma billionaires. The American public funded the development of that. When it came to the profits, they took the profits. When it came to the funding, you paid for the funding."" ""If you have an economic system in which pharmaceutical companies benefit hugely from medical emergencies, where a military industrial complex benefits from war, where energy companies benefit from energy crises, you are going to get a state of perpetual crisis where the interests of the ordinary people separate from the interests of the elite"" point remains....many will look at this and see traditionally left-wing, socialist, anti-capitalist views. Nowadays, many will look and see right-wing conspiracy theory. Actually pretty crazy when you think about it - and little wonder there's so much argument about politics these days."

"So, apart from a brief pivot to endorse Bernie Sanders on Bill Maher’s talk show, his “critique” of the establishment has been squarely positioned for the far-right reactionary gallery. Reckon he’s making a play for the territory left vacant since the post-Brexit demise of Nigel Farage - we shall see."

"at the risk of sounding preachy, i'm going to venture that you two are locked in a pointless & circular conversation, because you're working to different definitions of what left and right are - in fairness not dissimilar to a conversation i had with Capitol a few days ago. I've never seen any of Brand's channel content, but did see a clip of him on Bill Maher - where he said as follows: ""If you have an economic system in which pharmaceutical companies benefit hugely from medical emergencies, where a military industrial complex benefits from war, where energy companies benefit from energy crises, you are going to get a state of perpetual crisis."" Some would say this is anti-capitalist, socialist, traditionally left wing rhetoric. There is a growing body of people who would class this commentary as right wing conspiracy theory. Unless you establish out of the gate which definition of the political spectrum you're talking about - its a waste of time talking about left & right. Maybe, as has always been the case, the extreme left and the extreme right have far more in common than they would care to admit."
