Russell Brand
Dispatches tonight could be about him so he has jumped in first dismissing claims and rumours and saying anything he did in past was consensual. No doubt it will be said that this is The Matrix coming after him due to his opposition to mainstream media.

Re: Russell Brand
"Conspiracy theories typically proliferate when a kernel of truthful information seeds an infinite number of branches of possibilities that, no matter how implausible or contradictory, only serve to further prove that the powerful are keeping ‚Äúthe truth‚Äù from the people. Obsessive conspiracy theorists who discard their rational skepticism‚Äîand credulously lap up unproven theories that confirm their politics and indict their enemies as evil and omnipresent‚Äîare certain that they alone possess the courage and intelligence to see through the looking glass. Summarizing a 2022 study titled, ‚ÄúWhy do narcissists find conspiracy theories so appealing?‚Äù, Arash Emamzadeh wrote in Psychology Today that narcissists exhibit the following traits: ‚ÄúThe need for control and dominance, combined with the anticipation of defeat, is also associated with the belief in conspiracies. ‚ÄúAfter all, for people who have a strong need for control and domination, blaming and scapegoating others is easier than accepting defeat. ‚ÄúThe need for uniqueness, typically associated with the agentic extraversion aspect of grandiose narcissism, may also increase the likelihood of belief in conspiracies. Why? Because being able to see through the ‚Äòsmoke screens that hide the incredible truth‚Äô could give narcissists a ‚Äòsense of being special, of being one of the few people who see the truth.‚Äô ‚ÄúAnother factor is gullibility: Despite their overconfidence, narcissists can be quite na?Øve and gullible. This may be partly due to their tendency to go with their gut feelings than to deliberate.‚Äù I‚Äôm no psychologist, but these all sound like the qualities of a person who would look at multiple allegations against a ridiculous talk show host like Brand‚Äîbacked with some credible evidence indicating serial sexual predation‚Äîand say, ‚ÄúThis is the Deep State‚Äôs fault.‚Äù Give Russell Brand his due process. Do not reflexively smear his accusers as liars. And for the love of God, if you do not want to earn the dismissive sobriquet of ‚Äúconspiracy theorist,‚Äù do not give oxygen to the idea that Brand is a heroic martyr being persecuted by a malevolent, planet-controlling cabal."

"‘Trial by social media’ - do we actually ‘belong’ to the PRC already? It is ironic that the BBC used him so well during the ‘anything goes’ noughties. I think he mentioned ‘showing his Willy’ to a member of the opposite sex on air then and nobody did a thing (pre-Jimmy Seville, I guess?). Now he’s an evil, misogynist nonce because the zeitgeist has shifted and he’s more popular than msm. Quelle surprise"

Suzanne Moore left wing ? She was one of the most anti Corbyn journalists out there . .some people's idea of a leftie is bizzare . Tony benn was genuinely left wing same as Nye Bevan . Moore is a proper blairite who would prefer a Tory government to a left wing labour one and brand isn't right wing in a million years either .

"the ginger nodding dog, I read that a week ago and wouldn't piss on that left wing slut if she was on fire. what divs like you fail to grasp is these newspapers have very few paying customers now, so are are predominantly funded now by the same shitbags (gates/drug companies/government) that want people like brand to shut up. that's the sole purpose of the press now, push whatever the current agenda is and target anyone that dares open their trap. keep obedient and get boosted you thick cսnt"

Re: Russell Brand
Vexed How is the law unenforceable? Unless everyone uses VPN’s? And how long before they outlaw those in order to be in line with the proposed laws? I briefly read the laws they are bringing in and they are pretty far reaching. One was something like “depicting violence”. How does one know whether it’s acted or not? What level of violence is allowed? Who judges that? Same with “violent sex” which some people enjoy having at various levels. It’s all a bit strange. Either make explicit laws saying which things are banned etc But it seems like they have a lot of leeway to stop a lot of individual sites etc just because they want to. Didn’t Cameron try to this years ago and failed because it was unworkable? How did this bill get to this late stage without challenge and debate in the media? Oh… the “media”!! I should have known. the judge and jury of our country doing their job again! Ffs
Re: Russell Brand
Out to get him and nail him to the floor. He has spent years catering for the dummy down lot in society and over the last 10 years has stepped up appearing on question time & news night and pulling in 10 million followers . Well we can't have that now can we? him getting just to big so let's social media do their dirty work and forget about any court case which could get to the truth. Wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire myself but it runs alongside similar lines of the Chinese government who over the last years have jailed people who have just got to big on social media.

"Maggie Thatcher (im not a fan!) said this back in the 80,s, sadly its spot on, and even more tragic, coming to pass in this modern world that both MSM and social media is having such a big influence on creating. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/txbythH16-0"

Did Russell Brand only become a sex pest when the On Line Safety Bill was proposed...or on the day his Dispatches program was broadcast?

"goose 10:19 Sat Sep 23 I heard some things about him 20 years ago from a couple we met at Maternity classes and still keep in touch with. The husband is a comedy writer and worked on things he did and, well, he is not a nice person to say the least."

"Can we have some cryptic clues? Maybe throw in some sexual innuendos to keep on topic? Beats the Daily Quiz thread, where I don't think I've answered 1 question ."
