Might be a ‘funny’ start to the new season with some top teams missing players that have gone deep into the Euros… something that won’t affect us to badly (except Bowen perhaps). Presumably Lop won’t disappear on holiday on 1 June so no excuse for him and Steidten not to get our transfer business done early. He will be raring to get everyone back for preseason and then hit the new season running.

"I don't have high hopes for this appointment, partly as the manager has a history of walking away and partly as he hasn't got the tools in the squad to hit the ground running which will likely see him under pressure from fans and the media pressing home their Moyes love. Quite a rebuild needed with more pace, athleticism and youth needed. I hope fans can give him time as we are so entrenched in a style which concedes possession and plays on the back foot it will take time to adapt and probably look pretty poor whilst it happens. I remember Arteta being called to be sacked at Arsenal and the current Bournemouth manager having a difficult time to get his team used to his style. I've had two whole seasons of pretty uninspiring league performances so lets see what happens. At least he will have a transfer window and pre-season to see who he wants."

Never said Alvarez was replaced by Cresswell in midfield. I wouldn’t suggest Moyes was that bad so steady on tiger.
