Welcome to West Ham United Julen Lopetegui
Re: Welcome to West Ham United Julen Lopetegui !!!
Loppy’s first job will be to keep us comfortably above the relegation melee. Everyone wants us to play nicer football but the urgent need is to reduce the number of goals we ship and these two requirements might clash. Let’s be honest at least the opening weeks of season 24/25 will be more interesting than if Moyes were in charge.
Re: Welcome to West Ham United Julen Lopetegui !!!
"Reading thru Newsnow it seems to me that almost all 99% of stories are made up and speculation. There are obviously 3 or 4 journalists / ITKs that get snippets from Sullivan or insiders but its just an avalanche of speculation, web site, click bait and lazy attempts to get attention for their “stories”. That then drives ad revenue etc. Suggestions of who Lopetegui will buy, how he “might” insist on transfer veto, his supposed fall outs in the past, players he “might” like etc. The list goes on. As much as many of us were a tad underwhelmed by him after talks of a Amourim ( myself included), life and experience tends to tell you that we simply dont know if Lopetegui will be a success or a failure despite good past experience and some success and some not so good. So many times we’ve ( well I know have ) been wrong about manager appointments at various clubs one way or the other. Take the recent example of the bloke at Bournemouth. Like with Moyes being let go, there was similar “faux outrage” and “careful what u wish for” and doom predictions almost hope for failure because O’Neill was harshly treated ( far more so than Moyes imo because he had recently overseen successful results ). Iraiola ( is that his name?) starts with a few losses and Bournemouth struggling, every pundit and many fans go into “I told you so” mode. Low and behold, wait a bit longer and he’s probably the best performing manager in the league. But even with him, 2nd season syndrome has yet to apply. Once teams work you out( e.g. Moyesball). Will he be able to adjust? Wait and see again. As usual with “long winded Alf” 500 words when 1 will do. No one has a clue, we simply dont know if Loppy will be hopeless or a huge success so not worth squabbling and stressing over things imo ( although some people with psychological weakness and self esteem issues “need” to “nibble” at others and generally elevate themselves intheir minds by talking with self appointed authority, in absolutes and certainty ). I’m thinking wait to Xmas for checkpoint 1, then again end of season but also same again the season after assuming he survives that long. In the meantime, its fun to guess and deduce what might happen from reading WIKIs but like the web site self appoint, self aggrandising writers, its pretty likely we’ll be wrong. My guess is that he will make an underwhelming or average start in yetms if results as it will take time to exorsize Moyesball. Then again with 6 players coming in maybe not? ;-). I reckon “Indecisive Dave” on the Fast Show had it right. Now there was a man who was willing to be wrong :-)."

So you’re one of those shouty bores who spends all game gobbing your mouth off. You’ll shut up when you piss yourself and run out of cheap chisel.

"It’s bollocks to assume anything just yet. Must surely be an improvement, Moyes last interview where he had the front and felt the need to bring Arsenals Declan Rice into our recent form is talk of a desperate man. Cheers Dave fuck off..won a trophy that’s short lived but wrecked a proven youth potential pissing about with a “small squad” Who in their right minds is buying that bollocks???"

Jaan Kenbrovin 11:21 Fri May 10 I suspect that's just smoke to go with the transfer mirrors. I want to hear fuck all until a player has signed on the line.

Already been linked to Joselu (34) Acuna (32) Zaha (31) so it doesn’t look like our transfer strategy is going to change.

"can't remember the last time i was so completely neutral on a manager coming in. should be interesting. i usually throw my weight behind him being the second coming of greenwood or the next avram, but i genuinely have no idea how this will play out. seems a decent manager, but the dwarf and salthouse's muddy claws all over the deal put a dampner on it."

"Massive bit of fresh air and finally some news to get a little bit excited about (c/h): Paperwork done. Will be revealed when the dinosaur is put down. A comprehensive analysis of the club has been conducted over the past months, in co-op with Steidten. Even preseason schedules have been finalised. COYI"

I wonder if JLo will manage to surpass David Moyes West Ham record of 70+ goals conceded in a Premier League season?

"Don’t expect nutsin to know that , he is too lazy to bother checking such things before he comments."
Re: Welcome to West Ham United Julen Lopetegui !!!
"I thought it was pretty obvious that it was a done deal from the way the club announced Moyes' departure just hours after it went out all over the news that Lopetegui had agreed terms. If it hadn't come out and wasn't a done deal already, I think they'd have just waited until the end of the season to say that Moyes was leaving, same as happened with Allardyce."
