"He'll look like a Don on the touchline. 6ft 2, broad shoulders, barrel chested, gives me Spanish Allardyce vibes. Odds on he does a Chico moment with someone like Saka next season when he 1st dives right in front of his feet whilst laughing heartily in his face, hands in pockets.."

For a multi millionaire his dress sense is appalling. That's the only judgement I can make on him so far.

"RB - Yea, that's fair enough mate. Yep, looks like he has gone, had a feeling they might have gave him a little longer as history shows sacking managers since Fergie left hasn't worked. Be interesting to see how he behaves today in interviews and any ''goodbyes'' at the end, win or lose. Think McKenna will get the gig."

Re: Welcome to West Ham United Julen Lopetegui
tim seems to be LANGUISHING in the fact he's actually allowed in the building. i like the setup. i like that tim and nobes seem to be mates. i like that dear julen is coming in as an employee rather than an annointed king. if it wasn't all taking place in such cheap and tacky facilities we'd almost give the impression of a well run club.

I'm pretty sure. Even Sullivan has planned for the eventuality of pacqueta not being available. Well steitden at least.plus I've no doubt lopetegui gets the club. As well judging by his comments. No dumbing down of expectations. Unlike moysie either.

Re: Welcome to West Ham United Julen Lopetegui confirmed
"Yeah, it all sounds almost too good to be true and then the news about Paqueta continuing to rig bets (allegedly!!) whilst under the investigation for the same thing quickly restored our faith in West Ham managing to fuck it up again. THE West Ham Way."
Re: Welcome to West Ham United Julen Lopetegui confirmed
"Whether he’s successful or not, I applaud the club in getting its business sorted quickly. They knew who they wanted and - bosh - he’s appointed within days. That makes a refreshing change from times in the past when we are left scratching and scrambling for a manager for half the summer. He’s here. He’s got his team. He aligns with Steidten and the club structure. We actually look like a professional club with a plan."

Re: Welcome to West Ham United Julen Lopetegui confirmed
"Fair enough, eusebiovic. I just think whenever I hear those bring it up, in particular in the media, I find it a lazy characterisation of him like he leaves Clubs at a drop of a hat without good reason for it. I am nervous he could do it to us, but only if the Club goes back on it's word to him which for me is highly likely. The less Sullivan is involved dealing directly with him, the better! Just leave Steidten to deal with Lopetegui then hopefully they'll be little reason to bugger off. He's even stressed the point in his interview that he is fully committed to the cause and his past experiences have no doubt shaped that mindset. He appears on the face of it that he genuinely wants to stick around and do big things if we support him. Early signs are promising and let hope it continues that way for a while to come."

Re: Welcome to West Ham United Julen Lopetegui confirmed
Massive Attack My post was a bit tongue in cheek It was disappointing what he did to Spain considering he signed a new 4 year contract just weeks before accepting the Madrid job on the eve of the 2018 World Cup. Maybe in retrospect he saw it coming with the muppet at the Spanish FA (Rubiales) putting his knob on the table at the first opportunity ?üòÇ

"I think Lopetegui is the highest profile manager we have had since Ron Greenwood. He was being linked to Bayern and Milan, but choose us. We really have come a long way. Anyone remember the disappointment after Harry, when the best we could do was Roeder. Seemed like no one decent wanted to manage us. Strangely Moyes was a big part of getting us here! Hope Lopetegui lives up to my expectations! HAMMERS"

"Very good interview with him on the OP. Encouraging and positive, and comes across as very much interested in making the team stronger. Quite the opposite from the former cancer of a manager. COYI"

Re: Welcome to West Ham United Julen Lopetegui confirmed
"When I said that I only really had Spain in my mind as that was what the original poster mentioned alongside the Madrid job. I actually like the fact l he fucked the Wolves Board off for lying and breaking their promise with him. Our biggest concern now is Sullivan keeping to his word with whatever he's agreed with Lopetegui which scares the shit out of me, what with his track record for persistent bullshitting."

Re: Welcome to West Ham United Julen Lopetegui confirmed
He walked out of Wolves because they lied to him about available funds Spain sacked him because Real Madrid let it be known that he was taking over after the World Cup Spain failed in the World Cup after he’d been 20 games unbeaten
