The 2024 French Open
".. The first of two visits, returning for the Paris Olympics. Murray is nearly done, and injuries are hampering the top three (Djokovic, Sinner, and Alcaraz). Some seed numbers ; 4 - Zverev - Could retire Nadal for good by beating him in the first round 8 - Hurkacz - did well recently in Rome 12 - Fritz - is a clay court specialist 16 - Jarry - Made the Rome final. Part of a talented Chile team ... and the Women ; 1 - Swiatek - All time great, just won Madrid and Rome 2 - Sabalenka - Strength and power means she always has a chance 9 - Ostapenko - won this in 2017 and is back 12 - Paolini - yet another Italian who plays well on clay ."

Re: The 2024 French Open
Could the last couple of sets of Alcaraz vs. Zverev yesterday. It was a great final from what I saw. It's farcical than the men's winner gets the same price money as the women's winner given Swiatek won in 68 minutes on Saturday. But such is these enlightened times we live in.

Re: The 2024 French Open
"Yes, your point seems to be that a slippery court affects everyone in the same way And that a player with an existing knee problem should have no more difficulty than players without Or maybe its just the usual anti Djokovic drivel"

"I think I made the point already, if you're too dumb to see that, then I can't help you I'm afraid."

Re: The 2024 French Open
The courts were the same but HE had a knee problem & the court surface helped aggravate it What exactly is your point?
Re: The 2024 French Open
I see that Djokovic blamed the slippery clay courts for exacerbating his knee problems. Wasn't it the same for everyone?

Re: The 2024 French Open
Given his previous recoveries you can understand Djokovic seeing if he could make it to the next round with a days treatment Sinner v Alcarez in the semi You'd have to think the winner of that takes it

Re: The 2024 French Open
.. Djokovic was clearly injured and could have shown great sportsmanship by conceding at match point (it has been done before) .

Re: The 2024 French Open
"Manuel, Have to go in the ballot. It’s online these days via their website after this year finishes Went last year after missing out for 10 years & they have transformed the place. Great day Previously had quarter final tickets for Murray when he first won & baseline seats for the 2004 final where Federer beat Roddick Murray out in the first round … straight sets to fellow old timer Stan Wawrinka Needs to get on the grass & prepare for a farewell at Wimbledon. Hopefully he gets more than one match but suspect they will put him on centre court"
