Her performance in The Shining is mesmerising. You forget she is acting. Some great stories about that film. One being that towards the end of the film she never even had to act - She wanted to cry all the time as she was so depressed and angry at how much the film took its toll on her physically and mentally. She later found alot of that was Kubrick's doing and as he wanted to driver her to the edge of madness. Mad stuff.

Not sure she ever recovered from The Shining where Kubrick pushed her to the edge Was reading that he made her do one scene where she is holding the baseball bat as Jack Nicholson menaces her 127 (ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY SEVEN) times RIP
