"Bitcoin went past $23,000 today. I've made just over £400 today trading it from the comfort of my sofa. other cryptocurrencies have been flying as well. short term fad or long term alternative currency??"

Can’t keep up with the nonsense Dodge up 70% and Bitcoin up 37%. No doubt Vexxed is reading all of the market information that explains this. The only market information I can find is ‘ Dogecoin is about to reach $1. Elon Musk just tweeted. This is him hinting that he is about to buy in!! Zoom into the photo and you will see a $1 bill with a shibainu on it’

Dodgecoin is up 44% today and Bitcoin 22%. You think they’d make the manipulation a little less obvious. Eventually finding enough new idiots to enter the bottom of the pyramid is going to be difficult.

"Where do I read Vexed? I read plenty of the financial press because I used to work in Finance. Or should I be reading Reddit or something? Funny how I survived so long in the trading world with products way more complex than crypto. I saw plenty of scams along the way as well, most that were little more than tax scams or trying to get money out before the pyramid collapsed. Bitcoin has all the hallmarks of those scams."

PL - Why dont you do some reading rather than just emptying the small bit of largely incorrect 'knowledge' you have here? You arent even expressing an opinion to disagree with so you're way off the mark there.

"Vexed, why are you so rude when someone has a different opinion on this? Are you that insecure about Bitcoin that you think you have to attack someone with a different opinion? I don’t trade it, I’m not going to have any impact on the market by commenting on here. Why the need to suggest I need to be silent? Perhaps if you could come up better explanations than ‘this is all very complicated, I understand it, but you don’t’ it might help."

"Camel but thats hardly an unusual situation is it? Happens in other markets and has done for decades but not to the extent seen yesterday. Margin rules also are built to provide some protection against the domino effect. What your explanation doesn’t provide is any explanation for the move down and then the rebound. Yes, selling can promote more selling, but what triggered this in the first place? This doesn’t happen with other assets because there’s always the underpinning of the known value of the assets (property, stock, revenues etc. etc.) Crypto lacks that. Lastly too many more of these ransomeware attacks which rely on the lack of traceability of crypto and some Governments are going to take a long look at whether they are going to allow it to continue."

I would never touch leveraged trading. It's taken me ages to get to a point where I can live off my profits if I have to. That just looks like playing online casino where ultimately the house always wins.

"ParadiseLost You ask about what causes these massive swings. Leveraged traders getting liquidated. The stop losses fall like dominos, with big leveraged positions. The smarter and bigger traders, needing liquidity, then do their grabs. '"

Stunning watching that play out today. If you're interested take a look at the youtuber ' Uncomplication' and his video on 'Wyckoff distribution' from 3 weeks ago and see how he called it. Unreal. He has an update tonight which I haven't had time to watch yet.

"Bitcoin has halved its losses today so only 10% and Dodge has recovered to only be 24% down. The only news I can find to explain the BYC recovery is a new Musk tweet emojis of diamond hands. Nice for the Mega wealthy to be able to move asset values up and down so much with a couple of tweets. I might buy into this crypto currency thing more if it didn’t seem to be a pyramid scheme that benefits the wealthy and early adopters, Goldman Sachs had an article the other day that BTC was going to $250k. Wonder how much retail money that sucked in. They of course have their own crypto currency trading desk..."

"The problem with crypto-currencies is that when the situation arises that they are intended to protect against - the collapse of fiat currencies and the global financial system - nobody will have any use for them. They will, to use a well worn phrase, fetch fuck all to a jam tart."

"I don't know why punters bother with crypto for short term gains, as if buy high/sell low is actually a thing. It'll either eventually recover and break new records like its previous, or.....that money should have been spunked on brasses and drugs. It'll be the latter to be fair."
