"Come On You Irons 3:49 Sun Nov 13 ""People finally realise what was obvious ti me from the start. Paqueta is shit. There is a reason he was languishing at a mid table Ligue Un team before we spunked so much money on him. Awful player for that price tag."""

"He’s perfect for the way we play now, and his ability to switch play and a direct style is exactly why he’s signed. Whether there’s longevity beyond this season is anyone’s guess, but if he’s the difference between mid-table mediocrity and finishing in Europe and possibly winning another trophy, it’s a no brainer."

Re: Kalvin Philips Done
In business terms every player has a total cost and benefit over the time employed. The cost will be all the outgoings. The time is obvious. The benefit is more complicated to work out except in quite obvious cases like goals scored. There is not a great deal of benefit in having a player never really playing when they are decent and are costing a lot.

"I hate these publicity photos they do now. If they were like that in the 70s, I can imagine Brooking insisting on posing politely with dignity"

"Despite all the comments about needing attacking players, we've only failed to score in 3 league games. If we'd stopped the opposition scoring in the games where we scored we'd be on 55 points - 10 points clear at the top!"

"But it pays for itself if we finish two or three places higher up the league than we would otherwise finish - and if we finish in another European spot. It's ridiculous, I know, but in football terms £10m is really not a lot of money these days. It's Danny Ings' standing leg."
Re: Kalvin Philips Done
"I've just read this on kumb, fella reckons it's from the horses mouth.. Time will tell if there's any truth in it. Phillips comes from a big family who are extremely close-knit and do everything together. His partner has slotted into that family seamlessly and they are expecting, they would prefer to build that family in Leeds or as close to West Leeds as possible (long term). This window, he has had to think about how he can keep hold of his England place and we were deemed the best option for him to give a bit of a shot in the arm to his career. The summer will be interesting. I’d have thought that if Leeds go up and are willing to meet Man City’s valuation, Phillips is theirs."

I’m sorry but paying what will Be £10m for renting this guy for 6 months with no Option to buy. What sort of business is that? We need wingers and a striker more than another CM!!! Moyes dream of he playing 5-5-0 gets closer.

Re: Kalvin Philips Done
"Like many on here, I'd like to see Phillips' arrival spell the beginning of the end for Soucek as a first choice in midfield. Alvarez, Phillips and Ward-Prowse would seem like a damn hard-working engine room with some quality from dead balls etc and the ball generally on the floor - rather than in the air after Tommy's first touch. But, as some have pointed out, Moyes does seem wedded to Soucek (as he was to Fellaini at Everton) and we'll be dealing with injuries and suspensions from here to the end of the season. Good addition, though, no doubt."
Re: Kalvin Philips Done
Can't play against them.. Though I'm sure he's never moaned when the scouse cunts have loaned players. Not like a scouse fan to act the victim.. On another note at the latest count the club has done 9 fucking different Facebook pasts about this loan signing..
Re: Kalvin Philips Done
"Daily Mirror is having a moan about this.. ""There is also a good chance Jurgen Klopp’s team will, at that stage, be involved in a head-to-head title battle with Manchester City. And who do City entertain on the last day of the Premier League season? West Ham. And who will not be able to play in that match? Kalvin Phillips. How can that be right?"" https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/westham-mancity-kalvin-phillips-loan-31969384 Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I didn't think it was allowed for the loaning club to stipulate the player can't play against them. Am I wrong or is the Mirror wrong here?"
Re: Kalvin Philips Done
"People who think we don't need another DM, have you not seen what we've been like when Alvarez is out? In the three PL games he's missed since August we got beat 5-0 by fucking Fulham, let Brentford score 3 and conceded twice to Sheff Utd, hands down the worst team in the league. Even if the unthinkable happens and he doesn't replace Soucek in the first 11, we needed a player like Phillips as backup, if nothing else, and whether he's here long term or not."
Re: Kalvin Philips Done
But though both Benrahma and Fornals vave had their moments and both can certainly play neither have done anything for us for quite a while.... certainly can't fault Moyes for moving them on... If the Osman geezer comes in it will have been a good window.

Re: Kalvin Philips Done
"Good signing, providing he stays fit. No issue with it, providing we also sort out a striker at some point. It has been a while, of course, but Phillips really was excellent for Leeds under Bielsa. But it would be so tellingly ""Moyes"" to effectively fund this deal by offloading two attacking midfielders (Benrahma and Fornals) for a defensive midfielder."
