Re: Kalvin Philips Done
"Faux, I don’t see what your point about Phillips playing for England has to do with anything. At the time, he was probably the best player to play alongside Dec; as evidenced by us getting to the final with Rice and Phillips."
Re: Kalvin Philips Done
"He's a professional ffs, a professional should know how to conduct himself, Beckham got much more stick for being sent off v Argentina by England fans didn't throw his toys out, that's a professional. Philips should be sent back to City just for that. Moyes had his pants pulled done with Philips and Zouma knee injury. Moyes is an idiot chasing Philips he already turned us down, chased him like Lingard fortunately Lingard didn't come back."

Re: Kalvin Philips Done
"Come On You Irons o you called him PINEAPPLE HEADED cսnt , Just like Jason Lee?. He too was fucking useless. As stated ""Lee was frequently mocked by comedians Frank Skinner and David Baddiel in the 1990s football comedy TV show Fantasy Football League. In a series of sketches, Lee was lampooned for his perceived poor footballing ability and his distinctive hairstyle, described as resembling a ""pineapple""."" No dobut we got a Jason Less in out team!"

Hermit he’s paid a lot of money to go to Newcastle and act professionally. Supporters pay in a lot of money for that to be the case. It’s not getting precious it’s getting mugged off by an over paid individual….any other time I’d fully agree with your logic…..

"He’s absolutely shit. Geoff Pike at his worst. Fair play to him for giving the finger though, anyone getting precious about that needs a slap. If you can give it out, you should take it back."

"Agreed Miike, but it’s Moyes putting the player on the pitch, Phillips can’t put himself on there, which is why Moyes should be receiving the dogs abuse that Phillips is getting."

"GB, yesterday isn't an isolated incident. he's been shit every time he's stepped on the pitch, and for someone that's possibly our highest earner, it's just not good enough and will quite rightly attract anger. especially from people that have driven six hours to watch us, and then travel six hours+ back"

Re: Kalvin Philips Done
"Duke 3.15 The fans anger should be 100% aimed at Moyes not the player, Moyes should be able to see Phillips form yet still selected him as the best option coming off that bench at that time, even though Phillips has shown nothing worthy of earning a place in the team. It’s on Moyes and his gutless coaches and a fucking pisstake that it’s allowed to continue."
Re: Kalvin Philips Done
I wonder what Pep Guardiola would have done if Phillips had given his middle finger salute on a Man City coach.
Re: Kalvin Philips Done
What has been most disappointing with him is that he clearly can’t be bothered. He’s had more than two months to get his fat arse in shape. He comes on with more than twenty minutes left and we have to witness him jogging around and letting players run past him. It’s as if he’s given up and is waiting for a cut price move back to Leeds. He should be sued for gross negligence and misconduct. He’s taking the piss.
Re: Kalvin Philips Done
"Fauxstralian - my understanding via someone who knows Warbarton well from his City trader days is that Downes loan did not include a clause and was full season. The story I heard was that Warbarton had strongly recommended Downes as the outstanding DM in the Championship when he was hired by Sullivan to assist Moyes to develop more of an attacking approach. Moyes would not flatly refuse Sullivan his paymaster but employed passive resistance from then onwards. He was very reluctant to use Downes who was not his pick to the point of almost giving Downes no minutes other than some early Conference game. Then played him when injuries forced it a few times but as an advanced midfielder or wide. Downes became totally dejected. Again this is all rumour via someone. Moyes was against Downes to the point of saying 'he didnt do enough to get game time' despite not giving any him a run. And Moyes wanted Downes sold. Noble and Steidten pushed for the loan alternative because they felt there was a player that could potentially develop to Premiership levels and the fact he had only been with us one season and had very few minutes. The loan deal was the compromise but Moyes doesnt want him at all. Downes, btw, is an out an out DM and not an Alvarez who is better technically and can carry the ball and even create but our squad would have greatly benefited from him in it I think and especially of this catastropic, disaster of a loan of Phillips."

Re: Kalvin Philips Done
Was always bemused when we were told about the combination of Phillips and Rice for England The gulf in quality between the two is astounding. Just an average mediocre player I'd prefer to end the loan and send him back to Man City and give one of the u21's some game time. The sensible decision in January would have been to recall Downes from his Southampton loan and give him a dozen games or so to prove himself

"Ordinarily, I'm all for players giving it back to the fans when it's opposing fans, or if there is shed loads of abuse that goes over the top from your own fans when you're giving it your all. However, this dud has come in, on astronomical wages, nowhere near fit enough, clearly not that bothered, been absolutely fucking atrocious to the point he's touching Roberto levels, and he gives our fans the finger because someone shouted out YOU'RE USELESS? There was nothing worse than that that I could hear, and if he had anything about him, he would have agreed that he has been useless. In fact, he's been worse than that, he's been USEFUL to the opposition."

|On the face of it - Phillips is a terrible player. I cannot say more than that.
Re: Kalvin Philips Done
Sir Alf 1:28 Sun Mar 31 That is what I'd like to know. Whoever thought this was a good idea should never be involved in transfer decisions again. The opposite is true for whoever got the Kudus deal over the line. A great player and an absolute bargain given the stupidly expensive market..
Re: Kalvin Philips Done
"I mentioned on the match thread that this transfer deal has the potential to get even worse. Does he play against Leverkusen first leg with Alvarez out. Surely not as we might as well concede now and save the pennies in travel expenses that Sullivan cares so much about? And Osman who went to Brighton and who we allegedly passed on, despite recommendation of Steidten and new recruitment/scouting team. Apparently due to Moyes insistence on getting Phillips and his ability to veto deals in addition ( again allegedly ) to Sullivan being advised by Silkman ( trusted crony agent ) that Osman at 16 million was bad value for money for a very young, inexperienced player. The true cost of thus Phillips deal could become even bigger long term if this Osman turns out to be as successful as Kudus etc"

Re: Kalvin Philips Done
The fact that he doesn’t start even when Alvarez is suspended suggests even Moyes has lost faith. He’s been fucking dreadful every single time he’s played. Dreading that he likely has to play some part vs Leverkusen away. Cost to games he’s going to be one of the worst signings ever. Thank fuck no obligation to buy. And the swearing. Poor temperament.
