It won't be one of Sullivans cheapskate options . That's for sure . Those days are thankfully over .

Oh come on Fatty gave some of the yoofs a chance against Forest in the cup. Oh...
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"Lee, yeah fair point, it's not that they have affected the success of the youth team, but more our youth team has been very separate in that there doesn't appear to be an overriding philosophy at the youth teams and first team play to. From what I understand the youth teams don't play the same as the first team, so regardless of what they do, if they get a chance in the first team they need to not only adapt to the fastest and best league in the world, they need to change the way they play too. So there is not really a clear pathway for young players into the first team unless they are exceptional. Fair enough, it's not really Allardyces fault 10 years on so probably didn't need to mention him, but Moyes attitude to youth very much reminds me of the way Allardyce treated our youth teams."

"""Moyes and Allardyce before him have done their best to kill our academy of football,"" Our youth teams have been doing fine the last couple of years. Better than fine, in fact. It's the current managers fault they're not being integrated into the first team. Not sure why a manager who was here over 10 years ago can be blamed for that, but everyone has their targets of blame, I suppose."
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"I really hope that it will be someone recommended by Steigen. I feel like Steigen at least has a vision and a plan for the future, which is a far cry from the way the club has previously been run. We also need someone who gives some fuck about the youth team, otherwise what is the fucking point in even having one? West Ham used to be a club where young players would come because we nurtured the youth players and gave them a chance, but now they are looking to leave at the first opportunity because we have a manager who would rather over-pay for a has-been veteran to sit on the bench than a bright prospect. Moyes and Allardyce before him have done their best to kill our academy of football, we need someone to turn that around. Someone who understands what West Ham is about. For me it's not necessarily about winning or about entertaining, it's about attitude. I accept we will go into some games where it is not wise to go all out attack and invite teams to break, but what we do not accept is that this is our default tactic that we'll employ against Man City away and against Sheffield United at home. That is not acceptable to me."

Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"Someone who gets us playing fast paced organised football, with players giving their all, that attacks most games, and tries to win them from the off. Add in not thinking he's doing us a favour, glad to be at the club, bigs up the club, and gets the fans onboard. The complete opposite to the current incumbent, basically."
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"If you sit back and let the other team dominate possession then your defence will need to have very high levels of concentration and be able to withstand relentless pressure without much of a break. They also need to have the ability and bravery to block anything and everything that comes their way, because there's very little closing down going on before the opposition is within shooting range. It's why Dawson is the only defender who's really been a success under Moyes and why defenders with more pace and technique like Aguerd and Kehrer look awful, because their strengths don't often come into play."
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
Anyone that can coach us to defend better. Last season we conceded more than the season before and this season it’s even worse having already conceded more than last term. People complain about the Moyes defensive set up but it ain’t working and it’s getting worse.

"One Flew, A lot of people here seem to assume that Steidten brought Alonso to Leverkusen, but it's doubtful he had much, or anything, to do with it. At the time Leverkusen had Rudi Voller as Managing Director of Sport, and Simon Rolfes as Director of Football, both of whom were senior to Steidten, who was basically head of scouting."

"I'd take literally any of the names mentioned on here, I think. Them or Eva Olid."

"To all the careful what you wish for people , I bet Bayern Leverkusen are disappointed they appointed Alonso who had only managed a Spanish second team before"
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"Xavi Alonso, I know he’s said he’s staying where he is, but was Steidten involved in bringing him to Leverkusen?"

Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"Ideally the manager has a long track record of success but imho its more about getting a manager that is aligned with the vision or football philosophy of a club. We need to change direction and adopt a style that is based on having more of the ball, playing at a higher tempo. Thatvhas the potential to get us further up the league. No guarantees. Of course. So its about Sullivan letting Steidten implement this ethos across the coub and all teams and getting players that fit this way of playing and finally a coach and backroom staff who believe in it and implement it. Its essentially the Brighton approach but with better financial backing. I would suggest that Brighton could have made top 6 and Champs league if they had not had to sell so many players (they dont have the wealth to pay top wages etc). And we will need to sell a top player every few seasons for a while to allow the levels of investment needed to build a squad with depth of quality. In other words, like with Rice sell one at 80-100 mill and get 2 or 3 in at 30-40 mill. They wont all work but most need to. Might take 3 or 4 seasons to get the squad strength but the coach chosen would also be implementing the philosophy in order to see many more youth players coming through which hopefully avoids having to sell to buy all the time. I personally dont know or do the data analysis to identify who might be the best fit but hopefully Steidten and his analysts have and know already. It may be some unknown coach in the German or other European league? In some ways that would suggest they are looking for best fit rather than reputation or just track record which is what the uninformed like me do :-) The crucial factor is Sullivan staying out of it and trusting Steidten the man he appointed because he has largely failed with most football oriented decisions in his 20-30 years. Can the 76 year old Sullivan finally drop his need to control and overcome his “small man syndrome”?"

"Nuts Let’s fuck Moyes off so we can bring in any one of the aforementioned managers than watch us slip back into obscurity at a rapid rate. Can’t wait to this play out ffs! That's a very negative outlook, I must say. Why not look at it as a fresh new start after his contract naturally expires and an opportunity to being someone in who could take us on and improve the quality of football? Or don't you want the best for West Ham and for those that pay their hard earned to follow the Club?"

Nagel 10:51 Mon Apr 8 Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him? Dr. Josef Mengele. Would be good for Paqueta as he knows how to handle boys from Brazil. Is it safe?

Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"Hasn't Sullivan always wanted managers with PL experience, if so that narrows it down a bit, but fucks knows who, Tuchel, Mourinho, Conte are big names available, but if i had to choose i would be looking at Potter rather than the journeymen. We should however be in a position to attract some of the best, so let's just hope we can in fact do that and come up with a decent appointment. COYI"
