"Russ- It would take something special to improve our position in the prem, for many on here it will be about entertainment, interesting times to come. For me it’s about staying in Europe and going for a cup."

Nagel 1:34 Tue Apr 9 True mate. I know Nice have stalled. But some of the football they played up to December was outstanding. I have an old work colleague who moved to just outside Nice and he goes to the games.

"If we go down the johnny foreigner route, then I'd hope we'd at least take a look at Arne SLOT. Either him or Eva Olid."

"I'd agree with most of that list, Russ, except for Francesco Fariolli. He had a brilliant spell in his first few months at Nice and had them top of the league, but they've been in relegation form since December, with 4 wins in 15 games. And he'd been sacked from his two previous managerial jobs in Turkey. At the moment it looks like that early season form is the outlier. Seems like a big risk, even more than Will Still."

It won’t be Potter. He’s waiting for a phone call from Sir Jim. Not Diddy Dave. But Joking aside. Whoever we go for. They won’t get appointed until after the Euro’s. A lot of the Big Boys are playing musical chairs this summer. And the prom Queen’s we are looking at. Have their eyes on bigger suitors.

"Andoni Iraola - Bournemouth Rob Edwards - Luton Will Still - Reims Tomas Tuchel - Bayern Graham Potter - No club Roberto Di Zerbi - Brighton Francesco Fariolli - Nice Thomas Frank - Brentford Gary O'Neill - Wolves Mattias Jaissle - RB Salzburg There are lots of other managers but the list above are ones that I generally feel we could attract. And if people want to start making arguments against anyone in the list then be my guest, but i will give you another 10 why they would be better than Moyes. In general, all of them are playing a much more expansive, modern style and just have a much more positive outlook and vision of the game and just a much more positive outlook in general. People may scoff at O'Neill, Frank and Edwards. But I think you have to take some context and see what they are doing with the resources available. Brentford not having the best of years but look what Frank has achieved with a club that size over last five years. They could achieve much more with more resources. Any of those coaches would improve us from where we currently are and, more importantly, would bring back the supporters excitement and passion that Moyes has drained."

"I think all the recent pre and post Potter managers at Chelsea re proving that it's an impossible job there, so I'm not reading too much into what he did at Chelsea. So I'd take Potter but we could also consider Brighton's current manager De Zerbi ?"

"Massive Attack 3:48 Tue Apr 9 I was always more concerned with how much better Brighton did when de Zerbi took over, particularly with them scoring 30 more goals than the previous season under Potter, although to be fair they had created a lot of chances under him. As far as his Chelsea stint goes, I think calling it a pig's ear is more than a bit harsh. They got 28 points in his 20 games in charge. After he was sacked they got just 6 points in 10 games. In both domestic cups they lost to Man City away. In the Champs League he got them to the QF before being sacked. They had 3 different managers that season and had bought in 12 new first team players (only including those who played in at least 10 games). Hilariously badly run club. With Pochettino, in the league they've had 1.46 pts per game vs 1.4 under Potter (basically one win vs a draw), and you have to wonder how they'd have fared this season if they hadn't signed Cole Palmer on deadline day. Even their cup runs have been pretty lucky, with 6 games vs lower league teams. In the EFL their toughest opponents before losing to Liverpool were Brighton and Newcastle, in the FA cup it was Villa."

"Potter I used to like, until he made such a pigs ear of the Chelsea job. Really looked unconvincing. Granted Chelsea are a basket case more these days but even Pochettino has made a better fist of it getting to a Final, better form in League I think. Potter needs to do a good job elsewhere before coming here to make me think he's right for us. Could see him struggling at our Club."

I’d say what is more important is that they can deliver European football so we can attract the type of quality we want gracing the field at LS. Hard to bring in top talent when you are not in Europe.

"RM Would be great if they are English but more important is making sure their way of playing is going to fit with the players we are scouting, recruiting or hopefully bringing thru from the academy. So getting and keeping the ball which will mean players with more pace, movement and technical quality with the ball. That Will Still might be a good fit? English but playing a possession based approach etc That said, only been at 1 club, very inexperienced and might be doing crap this season at Rennes? But that the job of Steidten to identify the candidates using data and background checks etc. Anything but the old Sullivan approach of advice from crony agents and only old, Premiership experience managers who ideally were at rich club and won a few things in the past. The equivalent of buying a fully loaded XR3 with bling and 200k on the clock. Benitez etc"

"Ajax are in a right mess these days so can't blame anyone turning down that job, but yeah, feels like Potter might be a shoo-in for the Man Utd job now, seeing as their incoming football director was with him at Brighton and they seemed to be on the same page. Probably helps Potter as well that Pochettino hasn't done a great job at Chelsea either."
