We are a strange bunch. We had years of relegation fights now we are in Europe a bit and top half of the table and it’s not good enough!!

You think we can pinch a manager from champions league semi finalists? I've got a bridge to sell you.

What about Edin Terzic? Has links with the club but if I'm honest I don't know his philosophy on how football should be played. I assume he hasn't got a 75 year Yugoslav long jumper as the fitness coach.

"Apparently Sarri had a rep at Chelsea for not playing the youngsters much at all. As far as the appointment needing to be for 4-5+ years, I'm not sure how realistic that is these days, given how little time managers get if they have a bad run. Steidten's role is probably more important in the long term and he or his successor need to have a set philosophy that runs through all age levels at the club and hire coaches and players that fit into that. Last thing we need is the to and fro between completely different managerial styles and ways of thinking that we've had since GSB came in."

"I can’t see Sarri being a Steidten appointment. Any idea what his view is on integrating the youth as, for me, that has to be one of the biggest elements of the new coaches role. This next appointment isn’t just for next season, it is for the season after that and for the years that follow. Sure we want to do as well as possible but this needs to be setting the foundations for the next 4-5 years and I doubt that would be Sarri’s priority."

"Sarri isn’t the answer. We’re going to need 10 players easily over the summer to sort that squad out, nevermind the intensive coaching to rid them of Moyesball and his confidence killing ways. Sarri’s going to expect and need players capable of playing his way and we ain’t got them thanks to Moyes. Italian managers like working with complete articles, our defence at least definitely ain’t that. German Tim and whoever comes in has got a hell of a job on their hands. Our form of 3 wins in 20 (TWENTY) or whatever it is and being the third worst defence in the league and being one of the worst for possession and one of the worst for subs and age of squad means we need someone capable of rebuilding a squad from the ground up. For the lapdogs and OS glory hunter , buckle up."

"Kompany's Burnley played some great stuff in the Championship on the occasions i saw games, maybe at a bigger club with a better quality of player and squad he could do likewise in the PL. Its a year old but gives and insight into how Kompany's wants his teams to play. https://totalfootballanalysis.com/team-analysis/burnley-202223-their-tactics-under-vincent-kompany-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics"

"Vincent Kompany anyone? Sure, he's at a relegation bound club (maybe) but could be argued he has overachieved at Burnley, won the championship and the canter which isn't easy! Although struggled in the PL, never gives in and his sides fight as hard as they can, maybe with better resources and a bigger club he could do well, very well in my humble. If not us i reckon hes one for the future and odds on will be at bigger and better clubs in his managerail career."

"One of the rumours on the podcast is that he was pulled into a meeting after game in the week and told that his contract wasn’t being renewed. Also seems some legs in this Sarri rumour, already saying that he has earmarked two players to bring with him."

Dukey. I reckon the Board have a very good idea who they have to replace Moyes. They ain’t got to share that information with all and sundry at this moment in time.?

That was a very good article from Jacob Steinberg. The one thing I don’t understand is that the board are still undecided about Moyes’s future. By now they should know and be preparing for the pre-season.

Sorry if it's already further down the thread. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/apr/20/careful-what-you-wish-for-why-west-ham-fans-want-more-than-david-moyes A more balanced piece. Only thing I'd add is that the failure to strengthen in January has happened more than once as we all know.

"Forget Sarri. Get Siri in. 'Siri, who should play for West Ham against Crystal Palace'? She'll do a better job than Moyes and be a helluva lot cheaper."

NYC. Don’t say that mate. The only upcoming fun we can look forward too is who going to be the first West Ham You Tuber. Who will “DEMAND.” The next manager’s head.? The smart money is on the North London Scream Queen.

"i dont know who it will be, but whoever it is will need to be given time. We should not expect instant success or an immediate change, it will take time for a new regime and tweaks / bigger changes in the squad to take effects and gel, we need to be patient, which as a club we usually are with managers and have been with Moyes."

Far. I get the impression Klopp has been told by Mrs Klopp she wants to go back home.? Give it a year or two. He will get one of the big jobs in Germany. Or offered one of the big two in Spain?

"Two, stop making yourself look silly. By a bloke that has studied him in depth when he went to Chelsea… The 59-year-old believes in attacking, stylish football, he develops players and, crucially, is happy to leave the board to make the signings. Sarri's principal objective is to entertain the fans with beautiful and fun football. The players enjoy working with him, because he has a dynamic style of play and encourages them to be positive. He believes a player performs twice as well if he’s having fun and says that inside every footballer is a child. For Sarri, the job of a coach is to bring out that child. https://trainingground.guru/articles/philosophy-and-tactics-of-maurizio-sarri"

Obviously has been a good manager but another dinosaur who never stays anywhere… we need to move away from that IMO.
