Anyone know if money paid to bring in a manager counts towards FFP? If not then it makes sense to get in as good a manager as possible regardless of cost if FFP is going to limit your transfer budget.

"Sporting paid €10m to get him from Braga after he'd coached just 13 games, the 3rd highest fee ever paid for a manager. He won them their first title for 20 years in his first season there, so I guess they figure it was money well spent. I'd rather us pay £10-15m for a top quality manager then some of the players we've bought under Moyes and then sold for peanuts. It's not much more than the cost of loaning Kalvin Phillips for 6 months."

Apparently Arnie Slot has come in from 50/1 to 3/1 for the Liverpool job in the last 24 hours so it does look as though Amorim may be out of the running. Mind you I'd never heard of Amorim until a few weeks ago.... so I'm not going to get too excited. I can't even say I've seen a team of his play.
