If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
Thomas Tuchel might be availeble soon and I rate him even though it hasnt been rosey with Bayern... Over to you
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"""& don't forget it was Steidten who brought Alonso to Leverkusen."" No, it wasn't. It would have been the responsibility of his boss, Rolfes, and the rest of the board to decide the manager. Steidten's role at Leverkusen was scouting and player recruitment only."
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
I’ll be shocked if it’s Tommy Two Shed’s.! A coach with a history of falling out with all and sundry at which ever club he happens too be managing. I’m giving that rumour 4.2 on the BS Richter scale.

"I like Tuchel, a modern day coach but with a bit of school steel and no nonsense about him. Not sure if he'd be a good fit for us though, apart from the obvious Steidten links and being in London I'm just not sure why he would fancy us with no Europe etc when he is use to being at big clubs, rumours Manu are interested too and possibly Barca."

Yeh but he's been excellent for them.
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
Tuchel wouldn't excite me in the way some of the others talked about would but let's face it he would be 1000% better than Moyes and if he can work well with Steidten then that's the most important thing really. I was impressed with the way his Bayern dealt with Arsenal and I have no doubt that a Steidten / Tuchel partnership would attract decent players and have some longevity to it.

I read on here the other day that apparently Tuchel is over the hill/past it. That made me LOL.
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"""TBR Tim Steidten has decided who he wants to be West Ham United’s next manager after David Moyes Milo Clay TBR Football can confirm that Thomas Tuchel is someone of interest to West Ham – particularly their technical director Tim Steidten – who would love to bring him to the London Stadium. The pair were due to work together at Chelsea before Thomas Tuchel departed in early 2023. Tuchel himself is concentrating on ending the season with Bayern on a high – and that could yet result in a Champions League win. Steidten would love to hire Thomas Tuchel TBR understands that Tuchel is very keen to move back to England, after what has been a rather disappointing season back in his homeland. He has contacted Liverpool and Manchester United but a move to West Ham is starting to emerge as a possibility, especially with Tim Steidten championing him. Tuchel is set to leave the Allianz Arena this summer, with Bayern closing in on a move for Ralf Rangnick to replace him. With David Moyes looking increasingly likely to head out the door at the London Stadium, the 50-year-old has emerged as an option for the Hammers. The former Chelsea boss delivered a Champions League title during his spell at Stamford Bridge and will be aiming to scoop his second with Bayern this term. West Ham weighing up their options TBR Football revealed on Tuesday that Ruben Amorim has not been offered the manager’s job at West Ham. The Sporting CP boss and his agent held talks with West Ham officials, including Steidten, in London on Monday evening. Elsewhere, the same intermediaries involved in talks over Amorim have put forward former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui. The Hammers are currently weighing up their options, with Fulham’s Marco Silva, Wolves boss Gary O’Neil, Lille’s Paulo Fonseca and Feyenoord’s Arne Slot all admired at the London Stadium. The list of candidates is likely to excite West Ham supporters, with many growing frustrated over Moyes’ pragmatic brand of football this season. Moyes has done an excellent job in east London after delivering a European trophy under 12 months ago. But with his contract set to expire in June, his future remains uncertain and West Ham are assessing potential replacements. "" Here's hoping!"

Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"To be fair, I think all of us would take ANYONE as long as its Tim Steidten sitting at the table with him and discussing the 5 year plan together. I dont need anymore behind the scenes nonsense. IF Tim is happy, i am happy with whoever."
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"LJC, Steinberg said fuck all about Steidten leaving. You just quoted that Gonzo twerp who posts a load of clickbait bollocks."
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"He won‚Äôt last the season, it‚Äôs a dog shit appointment, honestly rather keep Moyes. There‚Äôs a reason no cսnt across Europe has touched him in 12 months. Genuinely think if he gets it then at some point during the season we end up with Rafa or Steve Cooper coming in."
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"Pentonville. That rumour of Tim leaving came from Steinberg and this….”The solution to West Ham’s issues seems clear. Unfortunately, I’m not entirely convinced that Steidten’s recommendations will be heeded, and if he finds himself in a situation where a Spanish version of David Moyes is undermining his role, I suspect he might decide to leave West Ham.”"

Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"The thing with Lopetegui is that while he opted for high possession, high press football at Sevilla, he played total Moyesball when he came to the Premier League. This is an analysis of Wolves at the end of last season, before he jumped ship. Sound like anyone you know? ""Wolves are a team who plays in the shadows. They surrender large portions of possession in an attempt to suffocate the opposition and engage them in a war of attrition. They then look to spring free and commit players forward quickly. Adopting a low block, they’re combative out of possession, though the fact they rank second for fouls committed suggests they’re not always the most precise in their efforts to regain the ball."""

"Yeah, fuck having his style of clever, intricate football here... https://www.sportbible.com/football/news-reactions-take-a-bow-sevilla-have-completed-football-with-37-pass-team-goal-vs-valencia-20210127 https://twitter.com/FootyAccums/status/1354550231157891072"

Pretty much how I remember his Teams playing. Far more enjoyable than anything Moyes has ever served up. If it ends up being him then I'm a happy Hammer.

Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"For anyone thinking that Lopetegui isn’t a step up from Moyes: https://theanalyst.com/eu/2022/10/julen-lopetegui-sacked-sevilla-la-liga/ ""Lopetegui’s style of play is high-pressing, high-risk passing out from the back. There were constantly at the top of the PPDA chart under Lopetegui. They wanted the ball and they were going to hurt you once they won it back. They wouldn’t hurt you with lethal incision but slow and elaborate passing, sending you backwards with back and fourth across the field until they were laying assault to your penalty area. A video of one of Sevilla’s goals went viral last season. It was sublime. A move that consisted of 37 passes that ended in a Luuk de Jong goal. Pure Lopetegui. This was a team that loved to build slow and intricate moves that wore out the opposition and prevented them from having the ball."""
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"Sullivan has an over preference for 'experience' with managers. Basically wants them 55 to 65. Anyone 'young' is deemed inexperienced....he just doesn't trust 'young' managers. What he needs to realise is the model has changed. Steidten needs someone subservient to him....and bringing in an 'old' coach is not the way forward. The.club is crying out for vibrancy in its head coach, adaptability. Grabbing some bloke whose almost 60 and set in his ways is a fast route to repeating the mistakes of the past. While Sullivan remains the decision maker, some things will never change."

Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"Lopetueguis actually alright, ya know. His football style definitely passes my eye test and he wins bigger prize than Super Moyes, so I'm definitely not against him. He'd whip us into shape, take no bullshit and actually want to get us playing Football again. He's well respected by players, but not so much Board level, which I also like - ie Keeping Sullivan and Brady in their boxes."
