The killer = Moyes.. haha spot on Someone also mentioned about Bournemouth manager doing good with a cheap squad etc I think the problem with the prem is your man management skills have to be just as good as your coach skills here. Simply because you have players earning 100-200 bags a week and it’s dealing with the ego’s that destroy you. That’s one thing I will give Moyes credit for. He doesn’t fuck about in terms of internal discipline. I rarely hear any bullshit from the players publicly and he has made sure the club isn’t a basket case. He runs that part very very well. I just wish he wasn’t so stubborn in trying to prove himself right all the time. It’s a real major defect in his personality. He feels like the worst micro manager of a boss.

Trundle same here. That Amorim is who I’d still be going for. There’s a list of managers that all play modern front foot football Fonseca De zerbi Iraola The fella at Ipswich has done wonders and they play some great stuff but would like to see another year of it. Any one of those I’d be happy with. Just something to make me look forward to watching them again.

"Me neither Lee, but Sully obviously does otherwise he wouldn't have been sounded out. Time for Sullivan to decide who his main man is and stop flirting with all & sundry"

I'm not at all fussed about us losing out on Lopetegui.

"According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Julen Lopetegui has already informed West Ham that he has chosen Milan as his next club. The pink paper reported on Sunday that the Rossoneri were ready to offer a three-year contract worth €4m per season. The latest Gazzetta report on Monday claims Lopetegui is waiting for the Serie A giants’ ‘final’ green light. For once it's time to be decisive Mr Sullivan and stand by it, shame Sir Trev isn't in charge, he knew what was needed after Roeder and convinced Brown to go for Pardew, regardless of the hurdles Madjeski would put in our way"

"I said months ago we should go for Iraola. Living down here I get to see them regularly and also listen in to whats being said around the training ground etc. He is forward thinking, attack minded and knows the game inside out. He would be a great fit for us although I doubt Bournemouth would let him go tbh. We need to look for the same type of manager. Nothing to 'big and brash' no 'Headline making manager' but a young manager who has cut his teeth on a low budget and is making things happen."

In hindsight Bournemouth did great by appointing Iraola. Found a coach with attacking mentality and recent history of achieving with limited resources. Good idea! It looks like we're trying to appoint someone ready for the next step. Fingers crossed. It's hard to get right.

"Massive Attack 1:29 Mon Apr 29 If it was anything to do with me, that'd be my two that I would want. Right now, probably more leaning towards Ireola because he just seems to be in a better place. Di Zerbi has had a wretched season with injuries, loss of form and their recruitment in summer wasn't the best. He looks like he needs a change. What Ireola is doing at Bournemouth is astonishing."

Will do. I will start preparing my acceptance speech. Shall I thank you before or after “God” and before the other 50 or so people that usually get a mention? It will be a sequel “Moyes the 90 minute killer”. ?

"What is this “in game management” you speak of Massive? :-) Excuse the long winded metaphor below but Moyes reminds me of that character in a recent movie on Netflix called “The Killer”. You hear his thoughts / mantra as he’s undertaking a “hit” “Stick to your plan. Anticipate, don't improvise.” (Then again, Moyes doesnt even improvise. ) The message of the movie is one Moyes would do well to heed mind. As explained by one critic it could be Moyes and his tactics / approach? “The Killer” initially presents itself as a procedural of sorts, a step-by-step explanation of the practice and discipline that go into being a hit man ( managing a football team :-) ). Except every time the hit man reminds himself to “stick to the plan,” it means that something is about to go epically, comically wrong. The protagonist ( Moyes ) realizing that he is not better than others and that his talents are not as unique or extraordinary as he believes This last bit has not happened and probably never will do unfortunately"

"Emery wasn't on the way down from nowhere. People may have thought that because Arswnal wrongly and hastily got rid of him within 18 months bit he's never been on the way down. He left Arsenal and went on to immediately win silverware again in Europe with Villareal, being his 4th Europa League title in total now. And I was just about to post regarding the Porto2 Sporting Lisbon 2. Complete night and day management of a game. Being 2-0 down away at Porto, at Half Time Amorim recognises it aint working, so brings on Striker Gyorkeres beginning of 2nd half and then a further couple of crucial substitutions later on Santos and ex Spurs Academt player Edwards. All of which combined to help level the game 2-2 (Gyorkeres 2 goals, Santos 1 assist, Edwards 1 assist) at the death to earn another valuable point under the circumstances. That's the kind of proactive and highly effective in game management you want to see to change a game for the better."

"I see that Sporting drew 2-2 at Porto tonight, 2-0 down at HT scoring two goals in 87 & 88 minutes so Amorim is at least keeping the spirit together in the team. Five points clear with three to play and tonight was the difficult one so should get home from there. Red card at the end as well… must have been an eventful game."

Sporting draw 2-2 with Porto. 3 games to go. 5 points ahead of Benfica. With a much easier run in.(2 of the bottom 3.) This season can’t end quick enough.

"Massive Attack 1:29 Mon Apr 29 The difference between Villa getting Emery and us attempting to the likes of Amorim is that Emery was on the way down and Amorim is very much on the way up as is Di Zerbi. Emery has been a great appointment though, perhaps we need to be looking at a Tuchel (wouldn't be my choice) or someone else that has a decent CV but not quite done it at a very big club. Dunno, just let Steidten pick them and not that fucking prick Sullivan would be a start. It's gonna be McLeish or someone innit?"

"Really wouldn't be surprised if he still rocked up even after apologising for the timings which did stink and called it out at the time that it was odd whilst in the midst of a potential Cup Double. Just sounds to me like after getting caught out jetting over to us by the Bigging Hill plane spotting massive, he's now back tracked to try and keep both the fans and players sweet for the rest of their run-in. He didn't want to get caught schmoozing and flirting with other more expensive flashier tarts like ourselves but now it's in the open, he's giving it the old Politician speak, I'm so sorry for getting caught out routine, but deep down still want to go ahead with it all once the dust has settled."

"Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim has asked Sporting fans to forgive him for holding talks with West Ham United. ""What is important to say is that it was obviously a mistake,"" Amorim said during a press conference. ""The trip was a mistake and the timing was completely misjudged, which I did not see at the time. It was misjudged. ""Publicly I ask for forgiveness from the Sportinguistas [Sporting fans]. I apologise to the staff, and also I apologise first and foremost publicly to my players for the mistake."""

"I think Adoni Ireola at Bournemouth is doing a decent job in his debut season in the Premier League with Bournemouth. He's got them picking up results but also some good performances too. Up to 10th and within reaching distance of overtaking us in the League with more limited resources/quality of players and as I say his 1st ever time managing in this League compared to Dinosaur Dave. I've got a feeling I can see his Bournemouth side getting a shock result at Arsenal too this Saturday to derail their title chances, 9r at least put in a decent enough performance. The manager I really wanted (before the Amorim discussions) and still do is De Zerbi. Now I understand their form of late has been piss poor but I think that's all related to his head being turned and it's badly affected Brightons form. He wants out and probably wanted Liverpool after all the recent talk and may be eyeing up Man Utd should Ten Hag leave. The form seems to coincide with all the persistent talk in the media of him leaving there midway through the season. If he's available end of the season, I'd love us to try and go for him to see if he fancied it. The De Zerbis and Amorims of the world are the ideal managerial appointment for us I think and should have the ambition to at least try for them, even if they choose to go elsewhere. Villa ended up with Emery by adopting that type of ambitious appointment, so it can be done, even under contract."

"If Lille do qualify for the Champions League, it would likely be in fourth place which would mean playing a qualifier. The lure of the Premier League and the wonga we would pay compared to Lille might swing it. Steven Gerrard passed up an opportunity to manage Rangers in the CL so that he could go to Villa."

Sir Alf… as you say Fonseca is out of contract so compensation isn’t an issue. By all accounts we offered Amorim more than Liverpool so I don’t think the finances will be an issue. Would come down to Fonseca himself if we offered him the job.

"Bloke on C&H makes a good point about Foncesca. If Lille make champs league he would likely resign with them ? And they look in course to do that. Lille are not unlike West Ham albeit in the French top division? Not one if the historically rich and successful sides and their chairman has already resisted Marsaille’s attempts to poach him last season. That said, his contract is up end of season and money talks. But will Sullivan want to pay what it takes to get him to move even if he does listen to offers?"
