Saturday football
"The same old three are jostling for position at the top of the Premier League, as they have for most of the last few months. The smallest slip hands the initiative to the others: see Liverpool. On paper, Man City have the weekend’s easiest assignment, followed by Liverpool and then Arsenal. At the bottom Sheff Utd are as good as gone and will start next season with a points’ deduction. It never rains, but it pours. Burnley are nearly as good as gone. That leaves Luton, Forest and Everton, separated by two measly points, battling to avoid the third relegation spot. Luton have picked the day’s short straw while Forest may hope VAR comes to their aid against the unfortunate Wolves. As for us, we could do with three points [i] to alleviate to some extent the misery of another piss-poor performance and late capitulation against Leverkusen; and [ii] to keep us in reasonable touch with the others in the hunting for a sixth placed finish. Come on, you Cherries. The Championship continues to surprise and excite, with relegation-threatened Plymouth issuing an unexpected walloping to leaders Leicester last night. The division mirrors the Premier League insofar as a single point separates the top three. Leeds take on Blackburn and Ipswich host Boro in the day’s most prominent games. At the bottom eight sides, including Millwall who take on Cardiff this afternoon, are competing to finish above the dotted line. Time for a Millwall Relegation thread? *SATURDAY* NEWCASTLE UNITED vs TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (1230) BRENTFORD vs SHEFFIELD UNITED (1500) BURNLEY vs BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION (1500) MANCHESTER CITY vs LUTON TOWN (1500) NOTTINGHAM FOREST vs WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS (1500) BOURNEMOUTH vs MANCHESTER UNITED (1730) *SUNDAY* LIVERPOOL vs CRYSTAL PALACE (1400) WEST HAM UNITED vs FULHAM (1400) ARSENAL vs ASTON VILLA (1630) *MONDAY* CHELSEA vs EVERTON (2000)"

"That Cunha fella at Wolves is a great player. Quick, skilful and good finisher. Would not fit a Moyes team as he’s not able to buldoze thru and hold it up or feed on scraps. But should we get a coach who tries to play with the football he might be worth looking at?"

Alfs 5:36 Absolutely is. Had a flying start but also got pretty lucky with fixtures and circumstances in those games. I think his gung ho style has been found out to an extent and they are just as likely to concede 2-3 goals to a savvy opponent and look dogshit as they are to roll over someone. The nauseating media love in has definitely stopped thankfully.

Re: Saturday football
If Newcastle can keep Izak/Anthony/Barnes until the end of the season they will get 6th place as they have an easy run in.

I don't like Leicester either. They just get my goat for reasons I am unable to explain.

"Oh yes, I got Noble Yeats in the sweeps. I thought he had retired. I wonder will the activists turn up to spoil things. Haven't seen them at any sporting events this year"

"Leicester irritate me for some reason, would rather the farmers and Leeds come up, in fact I really want Leeds to. Need Spuds and the Cherries to do us a favour today. Forest v Wolves could be a good watch. Honourable mention for the Grand National at 4pm."

Re: Saturday football
"I forgot Leicester were in action last night. 8 matches ago they were 12 points cleared of their two nearest rivals. It would be some collapsed to miss out an the automatic promotion. But everyone in the top 7 seem to be wobbling. Predictions Spurs win in goal fest Brentford win Burnley draw. Man City win Forrest home win to edge them to safety Bournemouth.a Draw at the very least against 10hag Liverpool..feeling a bit scarred, maybe a nervy win West Ham. An uninspiring draw Arsenal..would love villa to get something but Arsenal probably have the bigger squad to manage a win Chelsea. Nailed on draw as they throw away early lead to lowly Everton"
