University research on the role of football in response to military conflict

Post theacademic »

"Dear Hammers, Leading up to the Euros in June this year, I am conducting some research looking at fans’ views towards the role of football in response to military conflict. For those interested in this topic, I have created a short survey that should not take up too much of your time: https://doit.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9zZmrJfShOSBDDw I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on this topic."

"Many years ago, I and a couple of other University of London undergraduates set out on a similarly offbeat football-related study for which we contacted certain individuals at Loughborough University. This was probably at a time when Dr Jamie Cleland was still strutting his academic stuff in Pampers, so he cannot be held responsible for the uncooperative silence that met our polite request. Still, it rankled."
