Thanks Alan. Interesting read. I think the Wolves spell needs to be ignored based on the financial restraints

Thanks Alan A lot of opinion against Lopetegui. He's decent if he gets backed in transfer market. Reading all that about skillful midfielders and playing a high line and aggressive pressing. We'd need a number of new signings and some time to adapt as a team. Total shock initially. But if he was given time and money I reckon he'd find a good system. We'll see...

"KD I don't think you have a clue what you're talking about. aside from Wolves which clubs were in trouble when he joined them? he took over Porto in May, Sevilla in June and Real in August. his style is nothing like Moyes."

Lopetegui is just a Spanish Moyes. A yes man who hasn't done anything else than jumping into clubs in trouble. He has nothing to suggest this would be a good signing

"In fairness, Lopetegui wanted Cresswell as needed a left sided player, and had about 500k to spend...at 500k to 1m Cresswell would have been a more than solid signing. He's not up to competing at the top end of the league, but not a total disaster at the lower end. Ings...he showed against the worst teams in the league he can play (Sheff Utd and Burnley) and also scored goals before he signed for us with Villa....but he can't play in a team where he needs to offer pace and power...so totally unsuited to us. He was the Goblin's signing though and Moyes just said 'ok', and with Sullivan's usual quality of analysis and due diligence was a massive error. Probably checked his goals per game ratio over his recent career (~1 in 2.5) and his level of Premier League experience, and said, ""that will do"". The man's an idiot."

"That's in relation to Ings, by the way. Brining in a 31 year old Danny Ings who's on £125k a week isn't the answer to ANY problem. We've just learnt that."

"How does that work with his wages, seeing as he's probably on about £125k a week with us?"

That analysis is 5 years old. I still have trouble getting past that he wanted to sign Ings and Cresswell last summer.
