Re: Europa and Conference League Semis
It’s Champions League that Villa wants…..that’s the be and end all for clubs that think they belong at this top table…..Rice moved to Arsenal knowing he’d get regular Champions League football over the sort of European tours he was getting with us….these are just the harsh realities of modern football….

"Nutsin 3:53 Fri May 10 Re: Europa and Conference League Semis Always nice to see the Italians get knocked out. You cannot really be this dumb? We have teams in both the finals, while the mighty premier league has none. I remember your anti-Italian comments during the euros, only to end up with egg on your face."
Re: Europa and Conference League Semis
"Opportunity lost for Villa, for the fans anyway (even if they dont realise it yet), much more fun to win this than a one off stint in the champions league (imo) that will last for 6 matches. Especially as they haven't won a trophy in nearly 30 years."
Re: Europa and Conference League Semis
"I don't think it is tinpot but it's definitely easier to win than any other completion we've been in, still well happy we won it. Also glad Villa haven't. But losing 6-2 to Olympiacos is embarrassing. Considering we went there and literally threw the game but still only lost 2-1 and beat them comfortably at ours."

"It does put our win in a better light, would be churlish to suggest otherwise, but one could point to the fact that we sacrificed our league campaign for it, where Villa haven't."

Villa could not do what we did last season. It was a good achievement by the team and Moyes to win the Europa Conference Cup.

I guess Villa didn't want to win tinpot trophy. They know that est Ham 'supporters' wish we hadn't won it and they decided to avoid the embarrassmentof a hollow victory.

Re: Europa and Conference League Semis
"A tough run to the Final finally caught up with Villa, whilst still chasing a realistic Champions League spot this season. Thankfully we didn't have to play AZ Alkmaar in the Groups or Ajax, Lille and Olympiacos in the knockout rounds to reach our Final last year. Because had we done so, there's no chance we would have won it, so I'm very grateful we had a lucky draw by comparison."
