Declan Rice Magnificent

Post OLD GEEZER »

Ok we knew he was going and hoped he would change his mind but you can’t blame a young man for having ambition. He was a great player for West Ham and never once did he step out of line and be a prima donna. He respected the football club and fulfilled all of his commitments to West Ham. Have watched him play this season he has proved what we all knew. He is without doubt a huge talent and will go on to be a legend of the game. So sorry that he had to leave to fulfill his potential but I wish him well and salute the undoubted next captain of England.

"I don't give a damn who wins the title. If I had to choose, I'd go for Arsenal only because of Rice. He was great for us and most of us are grateful for that whether or not we have the courage to admit it. Anyone who says otherwise should grow up."

It makes me laugh how we were told he wasn’t all that last season & now he is playing for Arsenal he is a superstar Playing a bit further forward in a team that actually values possession but pretty much as he was for us for the last 3 or 4 seasons I want Man City to win the league by a point (another title that means little to them) & that Arsenal reflect that LOSING AT HOME TO WEST HAM cost them the title

"He was very good yesterday, def more effective as an 8 than a 6 and can get even better too. It's not easy to go into a big club like Arsenal with their demanding fans and perform like he has and become such an important player, fair play to him because most can't do it."

He did look good today. His assist for the second was fantastic. Let’s hope we get the right manager to replace Moyes so our ambition can match the next Rice off the production line.

I can't help but notice that Arsenal are playing him much further up the pitch. Even when he is the sitting midfielder he has licence to go forward as a matter of routine. Moyes would never have done this.

"Fair play - he's never going to win the league to see CL football here, so it was inevitable he would go. I wish it weren't the case but..... Just will be a shame and a tad ironic that he will likely be relying on us beating City for him to win his first league title, which is good as gone if it comes to that."

He’s a Arsenal player now. So he isn’t really my concern. And England could have Messi in the squad. And we would still win fuck all while the waistcoat is on the touch line. Be a real shame if it’s us having to go too City and getting a result. For Arsenal to win the title. Real shame…..

"The only thing I care about is whether he is any good for England in the summer. Given that Southgate will play him differently then he probably will be average which he has been in the last couple of England games he played. I just don't understand all this constant love-in with a former player. It's like a bloke admiring a girl he sees in the bar every week but she is not interested in him, is out of his league and has a boyfriend who is much better looking."
