Premier League Injury Table

Post ludo21 »

We have come bottom of the PL Injury Table which is a good thing!! Apparently we have had 6 injuries all season and a player has missed a cumulative 22 matches due to injury. This compares with Chelsea who are 1st with 54 injuries and 309 matches missed. Perhaps there is a degree of skill form the medical team and the coaching staff in achieving this but more likely it just shows how lucky Moyes has been... can you imagine if we had had injuries to a couple of key players... doesn't bear thinking about.

"The difference is that Chelsea have about 300 players, so law of averages they are going to get more injuries. They could probably suffer 3 players out to 1 of ours and still have a squad to choose from."

"Nagel, I hardly think deep fried mars bars and Irn Bru favoured by Moyes had the desired effect on our injuries this season !"

"Maybe diet and training improved under Moyes, but isn't it more likely that the utterly passive nature of our play reduced the injuries? If players aren't rushing to tackle or press the ball or do anything very much then there's probably less chance of impact injuries, etc."

"Moyes had the audacity to suggest a couple of players away in the African Nations and Bowen missing, what three games, as a major factor why we come down with the Christmas decorations, I totally despise the fraud."

OTB you think Moyes had anything to do with improving a players fitness... ?ü§î where's the evidence for that.. Antonio was injured this season for 86 days missing 17 matches... sounds like he got worse...

"On The Ball 6:12 Thu May 9 Very true about Antonio but I thought I read he'd just started listening to his body, taking more care and massively changed his diet etc which eliminated the repeated soft tissue injuries? Anyhow, of course there's some luck involved and we know we were lucky. In another season a couple of apparently innocuous collisons will lead to season-enders"

"I haven't wanted to be a 'real fan' of Moyes's shit football, luckily I have a brain to know when something is shit and not to support it like lemming....to moan like fuck so the club sees it should make a change.....hats off to those that go that have done this...."

"Nothing to do with luck, considering we also have oldest squad it proves backroom/medical staff have done really well But the doom and gloomers on here like snide just consistently have non stop pop at the club from top to bottom, not real fans"

It has to be said that that side improved under Moyes. Think of Antonio.

I suppose sitting back shuffling from side to side without the ball doesn't cause much exertion on the body......20% chance of getting injured because we have the ball and they are stretching their muscles....
