Re: Championship Playoffs
I grant you he looks ok at this level. But it’s West Brom and they are shit. I will give him credit for doing a Trevor Brooking for that 2nd goal by allowing the ball to go ahead of him instead of stopping it as so many players do these days.
Re: Championship Playoffs
"AOI, really? You must be watching a different game to me. Downes has been superb. Doesn’t give the ball away, capable of injecting pace when it’s needed and as he just showed with the second goal , running with the ball. Very composed player."
Re: Championship Playoffs
Close runner up in their player of the season poll I'm more inclined to value the opinion of multiple fans who've watched 46 games in the flesh versus that of someone who's watched half a dozen games on tv

Re: Championship Playoffs
Who keeps saying doenes isn’t good enough for us? Clearly improved this season . Certainly a step up from kalvin fucking Phillips . Probably wouldn’t do sticking finger up at fans on the bus either

Re: Championship Playoffs
The more I see of Downes the less I’m impressed by him. Seems like a very risk averse type of player. A JWP-lite kind of guy.

Re: Championship Playoffs
"To be fair, they scored a decent amount of goals in the regular season and they’re without Che Adams tonight too. Plus they should have been awarded a penalty, which was absolutely blatant."
Re: Championship Playoffs
Interesting watching Southampton… set up in a 433 and playing a possession based style that I imagine will be similar to how we set up under Lop. WBA doing a Moyesball approach… I know which I would rather watch. Downes very effective so far.

Re: Championship Playoffs
Saw he was pushing a Leeds player in the chest at a corner & when the Leeds player did the same he flopped on the ground crying trying to get him sent off Utter cսnt so also glad he got humiliated Also saw that Chris Sutton after saying West Ham fans were entitled & wanting ‚Äòfantasy football‚Äô for wanting Moyes out said that he agreed with Wagner getting sacked for getting an appalling Norwich into the playoffs Because he didn‚Äôt like their playing style Imbecile
Re: Championship Playoffs
"Lovely to see Ashley Barnes on the losing team. The biggest shit bag of a player possible. I’m not a violent man, but would love to see him break both legs and one arm whilst trying to take someone out."

Re: Championship Playoffs
Surprised noone took Summerville when they went down. Looks a Premier league player and reckon he will be in the PL one way or another next season. Not 100% convinced by Gnonto and young Gray may be too young ... and difficult to get given his family connections at Leeds. You'd expect Southampton to win tonight. If THEY come up you'd expect a bid for Downes. If they dont Walker-Peters at right back could an option as back up when Ben Johnson leaves

Re: Championship Playoffs
Norwich look a very ordinary team Balding fat fuck Ashley Barnes up front & Gunn Jr a very ordinary keeper We looked at that winger Jon Rowe last summer … supposedly playing with an injury but looks nowhere near good enough

Re: Championship Playoffs
Leeds 2-0 up early & outplaying Norwich easily approaching h/t Think we could do without another dismal Premier league season from Norwich Won’t have to bother as Leeds 3-0 after 40mins & off to Wembley

Re: Championship Playoffs
Both in the balance for the second legs First legs often CAGEY & a bit of an arm wrestle Leeds & Southampton confirm their favouritism & its the second legs under lights that crank it up

"Downes looks good. Post Moyes we've already got Downes and Earthy pushing for starts, maybe Cornet too, so maybe the overhaul won't be as big as we thought?"
