Kevin Nolan

"Having read what he said on some R5 Live football programme, he's suggesting he thought he might be kept on by the new management team and that it came as a bit of a shock to him to find he wasn't wanted. I can't say I've ever rated him particularly highly as a coach and would've been amazed if he'd stayed, but his comments appear to have been met with a lot of fans saying on SM how sorry they are to see him go and how they'd have loved to see him kept on in some kind of ambassadorial role... That's not a view not shared by me so am I in the minority? Was there some untapped genius?"

"He either agreed with Moyes tactics or wasn’t man enough to stand up to him. Either way not the type of character I want at the club. Oh, overrated as a captain too."

"I'm too surprised about the clamour, keeping him would have been a constant reminder of the BFS/Moyes days. It needed a complete fresh start. Personally, I've never liked the bloke, but if I had a beer with him would no doubt changed my mind. Nolan has done extremely well out of West Ham, not just financially but also changed his whole way of life, he can't really complain. I'd like to see him try his hand again as a manager in the lower leagues."

"Great potential ?.... Sacked at Notts County He's got no talent for this managerial lark, he's a number 2 every day of the week, had it cushy at West Ham"

Can't really say how good ot bad he is as a coach. Ge was part of a successful coaching team for a while until 2023 maybe Sept 2022 plus the euro Cup runs. He seemed to have great potential as a manager in his own right before coming to us. I'd expect him to have offers again.

"They usually follow the manager into the next job, so this suggests Moyes will be taking a long break from management"

"Surprised at this talk New managers bring their own staff & can’t see him in this new era More of an Allardyce, Moyes sort of coach As for the link between coach & players and a WEST HAM connection , that’s Noble for me"

he's a pleasant enough bloke but it's worked out well with Valero being kept on as GK coach and the rest (except Robson) moving on. it probably suited him staying in it he's still based in Essex but the new boss was always bringing his own men
