Re: Trump guilty
Forget which way round it was but believe there is a distinction between state & federal charges as to whether the President could pardon himself Though I believe can run for President & then serve from jail if it comes to that Which is bonkers Is true that America is hopelessly divided with seemingly no common ground. That’s not going to change whoever wins

"I've just noticed that I'll be in Washington DC three days after the election. I was toying with the idea of going to Philadelphia one day, but I might get to see some insurrection instead!"

"The thing is now though it hardly matters any longer what policies each side has, it's just going to be if you're pro Trump or anti Trump that will determine a persons vote. For the so called world leader the country is a fucking embarrassment."

Re: Trump guilty
"I read that the judge told the jury a unanimous verdict wasn't necessary for a conviction and even a 4-4-4 split would be enough to find him guilty, sorry if I have that wrong but it was along those lines. Don't think I've ever seen such a high profile figure face determination to ruin him as Trump has faced and before the usual idiots pile in, I don't really care who wins over there. Goose is right, should Trump win, the global meltdown of 2016 will look like a tea party in comparison. Great fun to watch all the spoilt entitled cunts lose their shit tho."
Re: Trump guilty
"goose no he can't you dimwit as he was found guilty of a state charge in New York,Presidents can only pardon federal guilty verdicts Trump is a clown, unfit for office, but the circus around him is hilarious"

Re: Trump guilty
"goose - No he can't. Heard that 45% of American adults don't vote, a theory is that if a 'fair' American thinks he has been stiched up via a witch hunt, some of that 45% could come out and vote for the orange man."
Re: Trump guilty
"Can he pardon himself if he becomes president? These ‘political’ attempts to get him sent down will only harden the resolve of those who support him. It will be carnage if somehow he still runs in November, and wins."
Re: Trump guilty
"Sydney_Iron 9:48 Fri May 31 The 34 counts on which he's been found guilty are all to do with payment to old Stormy to shut up about having bonked Trump. Trump's defence is that the money was not for Stormy but for Trump's then-lawyer Michael Cohen for professional legal services. The 34 counts are mainly about invoices and dull accountancy issues. Then there are three more charges, which may be easier for prosecutors to do their stuff. 1. Georgie's 2020 vote racketeering - Trump is alleged to have asked an election official to overturn the Georgia election by ""finding more votes"" that would see Trump win. 2. Trump nicking classified documents and keeping them at his home in Florida. 3. The 2020 riots at the Capitol."

"Sydney - Surely that happens all over where in a case some say he's guilty where others say he's been stiched up?? But agree with your second point, the political divide in the US is getting fucking crazy."

Re: Trump guilty
"I don't know the ins or outs of these charges against Trump but is worrying that the political divide is getting bigger and bigger especially in the good old US of A. Reading varies stories and comment that Trump has been wrongly accused is totally innocent and has been set up, then on the other side of the fence people saying he's as guilty as fuck and banged to rights blah blah blah. Only in fucked up America, won't be long before people start getting killed for having or perceived as having the ""wrong"" political view or allegnces IMO"

Re: Trump guilty
You mean Democrats Republicans are the clowns endorsing Trump as their candidate It’s a basic case of electoral fraud … as said I imagine it’s a fine Are we getting to being involved in inciting the storming of the Capitol & encouraging the murder of Mike Pence? Or will that be heard once he is President Which I expect he will be

Re: Trump guilty
"Yea, of course he's guilty as charged, but I think the beef here with many is that the Republicans have been doing all they can to get him in 'trouble' what is this their third or fourth attempt? They finally did it. Well done. This isn't even really that serious, he poked a brass 18 years ago and paid her a bit of hush money, it could have easily just been brushed under the carpet to uphold a fair election, but now that isn't going to be the case and the Republican's have got what they wanted. The question is will it spectacularly back fire on them? Farage thinks it will."

Re: Trump guilty
"Seemed a pretty open & shut case Poked S Daniels, paid her off & then declared the payment as part of his candidacy expenses Which is an offence Presume it’s a fine rather than jail time? Very expensive 30 seconds for D Trump I don’t have a problem with him standing but didn’t the Republicans used to be a serious political party?"

Re: Trump guilty
"Jonesey - Would never happen, one of the reasons he won't go to jail is that as we know all ex-presidents receive round the clock protection from the secret service, so if he went to jail he would literally have a couple of dudes with him in his cell. Apart from the farcical element the warden wouldn't allow it for obvious reasons, one being he would have a cell like Grouty in Porridge, making other inmates jealous."
Re: Trump guilty
I kind of expected him to get off. Like OJ Simpson. Very pleased at the verdict/s. He's such an arsehole and the world will be a better place without him in a position of influence.

"Yes, unfortunately jail is unlikely. I would love to hear that his flaccid arse had been reamed by some very large, and extremely well hung, African American but alas that little pleasure will escape me."

Re: Trump guilty
"Tex - You've just listed his good points. My two pence worth is he obviously won't go to prison, he will still remain the Republican candidate, but he will lose to Biden again. I'm sure the political experts on here will have a much more detailed analysis than that though."
