Anxiety/depression
"Been through bad time lately with suffering with this. Dark thoughts as well. I know some posters on here suffer with this. Anyone come through the other side of this shit?
"A number of posters have been yellow carded and told to stay off this thread unless they have anything constructive to add. This is a thread that has been very useful to so many, for any other posters with scores to settle, argue on another thread. This thread is sacrosant.Thank you"

Re: Anxiety/depression
Going through this right now. It just creeps up on you and jumps out at the most unexpected times for no reason at all. Have had dark thoughts but won't give in because: a. My son b. I know it will pass; it always does. Have been waiting for three months for the first talking therapy appointment. Fuck know what have might have happened to those in a worse position than me. Can't wait for Spring
Re: Anxiety/depression
I think my main thing is knowing that I'm not going mad and my feelings have a reason behind them. I can get angry very quickly. I've worked on that a lot. I also can get anxious for no real reason. I have to keep telling myself that that is ok and I shouldn't be hard on myself.

"I think many have lost the ability to differentiate ""need to know"" from ""nice to know"", and, as such, soak up anything and everything out of a fear of ""missing out"" or not being amongst ""the first to know"" something - anything. To be honest, what the fuck does it matter if you find out we've busted our transfer budget a day after everybody else? How does that ""seriously fuck up"" your life?"

We are now bombarded with too much stimulus and information"". -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was told a while ago, (and I have no reason not to believe it), that we are now exposed to roughly the same amount of information every year, as our grandparents were in their entire lifetime."

Re: Anxiety/depression
"bruuuno 7:35 Tue Jan 14 Virtually EVERYBODY is now a slave to their smart-phone/laptop. The proof is disarmingly simple. Ask someone to switch all their connected devices OFF completely for 48 hours. Any ""Yeah, buts..."", for ANY reason will immediately show someone as a data (not information, data) addict. Note: I said CONNECTED devices. You can have a phone for emergency use only - and posting a ""Like"" on Facebook is NOT an emergency."

"Basically the world has changed faster than our brains have evolved. We are now bombarded with too much stimulus and information. Lack of god and religion is a factor. Plus I’m certain that the physical act of using a smart phone is bad for our brains, see my first point"

"Block 6:45 Tue Jan 14 Re: Anxiety/depression 'I think a lot of it is the mind playing tricks on you, some probably don't need the tablets however because they take something they automatically feel better, but in reality they could be taking a placebo and would still have the same effect.' Absolutely! One of the key tests any new product has to pass is that it is proven clinically more effective than placebo in a blind trial. Many senior drug company execs await the results of those sort of trials nervously in case they are about to have wasted millions of pounds of research into something that's no better than placebo."

"Block 6:33 Tue Jan 14 Absolutely. I do think that sometimes people are ready to accept or not accept different treatments at different times, or sometimes knock them on the head too quickly after an early side effect."
