Anxiety/depression

Post Tomshardware »

"Been through bad time lately with suffering with this. Dark thoughts as well. I know some posters on here suffer with this. Anyone come through the other side of this shit?

"A number of posters have been yellow carded and told to stay off this thread unless they have anything constructive to add. This is a thread that has been very useful to so many, for any other posters with scores to settle, argue on another thread. This thread is sacrosant.Thank you"

Steve. Its serenity a release of all thing's in life making it difficult to carry on. Some of meds I was given on 2015 /16 for over a year were addictive and the withdrawal symptoms are nasty. I had to wean myself off of them when I when I was working in Qatar. I had broken sleep for month's and I had hypnosis to make me sleep . Hypnosis is same as meditation. In May last year I hit a real low point and I meditated and reached gor the serenity I was looking for and I really came close to topping myself as I didn't want to come back to realliy I am out of it now but its been a long battle

"DarloDebs , keep an eye on that , back in 2012 I had slight pain in my chest with light jogging . TWO e.c.g s were normal , but because I felt pain on the hospital treadmill my doc sent me for an angiogram . I HAD 2 STENTS fitted straight away . I wouldn’t be here now if it wasn’t that angiogram!"

"Apologies all for a long winded post. It was not meant to be a poor me post. It was simply the only way using my experiences I could explain to Tomshardware the answer to his question- ""Anyone come through the other side of this shit?"" I was wrong to mention Vexed in my post and his reply was not as offensive as I imagined. Suicide is such a taboo topic for some and even depression people cant relate too, so this thread could turn out to be the most constructive we have had in years if only to prevent another Eddie, Gavros or Piggy passing away. WHO definitely helped and helps me at times , would be great if this thread doesn´t turn into most threads with bickering, and insults , if users and site characters have no interest on the original post, then leave the thread going to those who 1. constructive opinion and experiences to help and encourage others 2. Have empathy with Anxiety and Depression. Hammers United after all. COYIS,"

"Steve, I think that's quite common, they say people often seem better just before they go through with it. I think its important to put something some strategy in place so that if you ever feel like you are moving towards acting on the feelings there is someone you can call. There is always someone out there who will listen. Thoughts pass, even the worst ones. When I've been having bad thoughts I started thinking about those people who would be involved in my death. Family and friends aside how I would be just another name, another stat, another body to bury. No more significant than any other body in the mortuary. It's a sobering thought. Theres a sort of dignity about being an old dead person who's lived a decent life. Theres is something horribly tragic about a younger person who's chosen to call time on their life . Their willing and able body becoming lifeless."

"Its weird because I have always found that researching suicide methods, looking into them, making a plan in my own head about how I am going to do it etc calms me down, makes me feel quite euphoric, I don't care about the world around me anymore. Its like a drug. I have been like this for a few years now, one day that temptation will be too hard to ignore."

"Sydders, they say that depression etc reaches a peak for men around their mid to late 40s. If you can get over that hump, you get to the stage when you stop giving a shit and start enjoying life again."

"Sent you a mail 67, but sorry to here this, don’t think any of us want to take any meds but if they help be it short term or for a while then should be done. Its kind of strange in some ways, expect a good few of us, maybe over did things back in or our 20,s and 30,s and those rave days! Taking too many………….meds!!!! for want of a better word, remember reading some stuff that these things may come back to haunt you in later life………not sure how much truth there is in it, but seeing how many are now having issues, it could have some truth to it, or maybe im just more tuned into it and its always been there, but as im getting older I notice more of people my age having mental health issues. Find keeping myself very fit and busy helps a lot. Off into the outback today, no internet for 2 weeks, hope I come back and we have smashed Leicester, Liverpool and in the 5th round of the cup????"

"Over 4 years ago in Singapore my first symptoms, for a disease that took nearly to a year diagnose, were full on TIAs with no bleeds or infarctions . I thought I was having one in Singapore airport ( Changi ) I went to the medical centre there and the nurse calmed me down and it was a panic attack and had several atter in public places. I get a similar panic attack feelings in public with deppression, I keep losing things and today I thought I had lost my card at the till of a shop when I had to pay and freaked out with the queue behind me. Some matters normally trivial I stuggle to cope with. I held off with meds in the phamacy for 2 months and picked them up today a took my first one"
