"Been through bad time lately with suffering with this. Dark thoughts as well. I know some posters on here suffer with this. Anyone come through the other side of this shit?

"A number of posters have been yellow carded and told to stay off this thread unless they have anything constructive to add. This is a thread that has been very useful to so many, for any other posters with scores to settle, argue on another thread. This thread is sacrosant.Thank you"

"Vexed has gone a little quiet, he might think it's funny saying that sort of shit, but people on this site have recently took their lives and yet he's on here laughing at people who are open about their struggles. He won't think it's funny when I headbutt him square in the face, the mouthy little cսnt."

"Vexed, How about you come and say all this shit to my face you soppy little cսnt. It's easy for you to act the big man on here and try ""kick"" someone when they're not in the best of places but I guarantee you, you wouldn't dare say any of this to my face."

"You must have been accidentally dropping two at a time for ages you perpetual fucking mess. Why would anyone take advice from you on this matter anyway? I can't imagine a worse advert for a 'recovered' depressive, everything you ever post absolutely wreaks of desperation. My advice to all you sad folk: cheer up, at least you're not Block."

"Which tablets you on mate? But yeah I wouldn't panic it's just your body getting used to the change in dosage. The other day I took two of my tablets by mistake, I was an absolute mess!"

"Ok, thanks mate. I started off on 10mg and took it for a month and noticed I was feeling a bit better but not perfect, then upped it to 20mg last week and feel like I’ve gone backwards a bit over the last few days. Hopefully it’s just my body correcting itself."

"Quick question that hopefully some people might be able to answer. When you start antidepressants they say that anxiety could increase in the first few weeks before reducing down, which is fine. However if you move been taking a certain dose for a month then increase your dose (ie go from 10mg to 20mg) can it have the same effect and anxiety increases for a bit?"

Block Yep it is hard not to but it won’t get you anywhere apart from bringing on another negative thought of guilt. Easier said than done. She will see your effort and hopefully support you. You fell off and feel bad ( even worse) due to the toxins you consumed. Try and forget that and concentrate on the positives.

"Block. You can do it mate, I have gone from speed, Es, Charlie and meth to nothing, I used to drink to see how much I could drink , self destruction would be a good way of describing my drinking. I have not had a line for 8 years and a beer for over 3 years and I really do not miss any of it"

"Bishops, It's difficult to not beat yourself up about it, particularly as I've gone about 3/4 months without it, and the carnage it has caused with the wife almost ended in us splitting up. Thankfully she isn't going anywhere, and can see it was just a 1 off however when especially we're trying for a kid she went nuclear on me."

"BLOCK I think it’s almost par for the course falling of once in a while. The periods in between grow longer hopefully. The main thing o found is to recognise what you have done and don’t beat yourself up over it. It’s done just look now how to try and always remember how bad you feel now. Try and carry that with you and remind yourself the positives of not doing it far out way the small initial feeling it gives when you are on it. Recognition is the key, a friend of mine wanted to kick drink and drugs so much he provided his wife with alcohol & drug tester kits. He told her to use them when she suspected he had done either. He was trying to hide it from her. This acted as a deterrent for him and an indication to her that he was actually trying."

"I fell of the wagon over the weekend, in a very bad way. Ended up over a 2 day period consuming 19 ""tickets"" of gear, beer fags the lot. In the lead up I had been feeling a little overwhelmed with a few things happening in my personal life , it actually looking back at it now a really good thing that happened because It had been so long since I had actually dabbled I had forgot just how bad I felt after doing it and how destructive it is on my marriage, it's realigned my thought process to NEVER go back down that route and the damage was almost irreversible. How I've even managed to drag myself into work yesterday and today is quite an achievement, as previously I'd just lay in bed all week and call in sick."

"Much like the increasing sophistication of the algorithms that decide what we see on the internet, the marketing strategies of large suppliers of products, are very subtly aimed at spreading dissatisfaction with our lot, and then peddling the 'solution' which involves buying stuff. True story."

Mike I went to Westfield to get a watch fixed on a Saturday. I could not believe the amount of people there it was like the Central line at 6pm and I thought wtf are all these people doing here and the Cathedral of consumerism came to mind where everybody gets their weekly or monthly fix of buying of looking at things they don't need and cannot afford just to make going to work seem worth it

"Westham67 3:02 Sun Feb 2 ...""constant advertising or consumerism""... That, I believe, is a very big part of the problem. People are driven to believe they are expected to be a certain type of person - or a failure, always the last to be picked to play in a team game. It takes a bit of effort to cut out this constant advertising or consumerism, but in doing so you remove a great amount of others' expectations of you, but you have to keep asking yourself ""Why?"" - ""Why do I need this product?"", ""Why do I need to wear those clothes, that hair style, that scent?"" Is your reason for wanting that new pair of strides the same as your reason for wanting West Ham to do well? The people making money from those things certainly want you to need those things, but that's no reason, by itself, for you to want or need those things. An' 'ting."

"I wonder if many actually know if they have a problem, I mean a bit of anxiety now and again or mild depression if that is the correct terminology. I also wonder whether it helped years ago that people used to have more faith, be more Christian, go to Church etc. I know some will say that’s bollocks, but I wonder have they ever done a survey of Muslims, Jews or other Religious types to see if they suffer more or less? For instance some Christians interpretation is that you will go to hell if you take your own life. I also read someone who has depression said they had improved massively by moving to sunnier climes in Spain. They say that winter can give you SAD so maybe something in that?"
