Anxiety/depression
"Been through bad time lately with suffering with this. Dark thoughts as well. I know some posters on here suffer with this. Anyone come through the other side of this shit?
"A number of posters have been yellow carded and told to stay off this thread unless they have anything constructive to add. This is a thread that has been very useful to so many, for any other posters with scores to settle, argue on another thread. This thread is sacrosant.Thank you"

"Ha cheers mate. I feel so guilty for having them, haven't announced it on here but me and the wife expecting our first baby after 3 years of trying which is due in November, trying to focus on that!"
Re: Anxiety/depression
i can imagine fighting your size of head would be almost impossible ;) only kidding. i've no experience of this kind of thing so i'll say something bland like 'hang on in there Bolty'. seriously though - do please hang on in there.
Re: Anxiety/depression
"Been really struggling the last few days, old thoughts have blindsided me and I'm fighting my head like mad at the moment not to go off the rails on a coke bender. It's so fucking tiring, and I have huge guilt for even thinking it."

"whu4eva Meaning / purpose I think is a common struggle and it’s easy to get too deep, just think of what you’ve achieved ( hopefully something no matter how small ) It doesn’t help if things go wrong but you have to try to accept that as normal for everyone not just you. Social media and news should be fucked off as much as possible. Over the lockdown I’ve noticed more than ever how people are trying to push their agenda, what great lives they have ( look at me doing this, isn’t my life just the best ) and particularly the hippy lefty wankers wanting everyone to sign this petition and that petition and forcing their views that we should all be doing more to save the world. They’re all more than likely struggling with the same questions"

"Thanks for the feedback... I actually try to stay away from all the news bullshit... Lots of stuff in oz is about China buying land / businesses meaning we are getting taken over I guess not having a missus / kids / family close means you lose purpose outside of work / job, money etc which is sometimes hard to grasp"
Re: Anxiety/depression
"Yeah I’m struggling with the meaning and purpose bit. Being sat at home since March certainly ain’t helped. Some days can seem quite bleak. I keep running everyday. That’s a good constant in my life, when other parts of it resemble some weird fucking movie that I don’t understand."

Re: Anxiety/depression
"whu4eva 5:29 Tue Aug 4 I've struggled to find meaning in life for most of my life. I've of the view that there is essentially no intrinsic meaning to life and it is a struggle for most people. The idea that life must be fulfilled and enjoyed also causes depression and anxiety as most people are stuck in jobs they are only in to pay the bills. I agree with curtailing the media. I rarely go on Twitter these days, very rarely go on Instagram and barely watch the news now. I just take each day as it comes. I've also started to not invest too much in what people that mean nothing to me (like work colleagues) think of me, and that's a good strategy I find."
Re: Anxiety/depression
Random questions - Does anyone struggle with purpose / meaning? -> Ultimately wondering if there is more I could / should be doing / surely there is more to life than just work / sport / whatever (admittedly a single adult living in Australia when my family are back home) -> Does anyone stress worry about the world and how fucked everything is? How do you cope / manage this? I do try to see positives but there's just so much bullshit - US / China / Russia news etc -> What do you do to find purpose / meaning?

"MIL is struggling with IBS at the moment, which is usually stress related. She says it's being stuck at home with his nibs for 3+ months, it's doing her nut in. He's normally out playing indoor bowls etc etc, but he's moping around 90% of the time at present, and she is ready to kill... I'm betting it's a scenario that is repeated a million times up and down the UK right now."

Re: Anxiety/depression
"I agree on the MSM and social media views on here. I have been struggling for a few months now not with work or personal issues but simply due to watching the news and reading things on social media, I was getting some dark thoughts. I took myself off grid for a couple of weeks and I do feel better for it. I think we get bombarded with negativity all the time and it just chips away at you, I know good news doesn’t sell but it would be nice just to see some positivity. Stay healthy everyone, physically and mentally."

Re: Anxiety/depression
"Going off MSM is a valid suggestion, but not because any (one) group of people are on some ""mind-control"" mission (although ""they"" probably do want to relieve you of all your hard-earned as cheaply as possible). MSM fucks with people's expectations; it sets a standard, viewed, ostensibly, by millions and that fosters the individual ""must have"", ""must be"" or (worst) ""must believe"" mindset in people. But, because people don't know the root (internal, personally generated) reason for having that mindset, anxiety creeps in (MSM or anybody who profits from it is likely to start shouting to drown this out any moment now). Because the fundamental ""why"" is missing, people follow (trends) blindly out of fear, out of worry about being labelled as, somehow ""different"" (you can clearly see that at work in the insults and name calling on this site), out of not being seen as ""totally hip and with it""; even, would you believe it, out of fear of getting ""old"". MSM is not the only cause, but it's a significant one, so ditching it for a few weeks is a good call. And don't forget that Social Media is playing an increasingly big part in this - mainly because of the mindset created by MSM addiction, it's users can't separate it out from Main Stream Media, once the ""information"" is presented to them."

"Why would the (((them)))-controlled media wish to destroy society when, as you have so often assured us, the (((them)))-controlled parties are in government, so (((they))) already control us, and shaking things up would threaten (((their))) control?"

Re: Anxiety/depression
"Not trying to be a cսnt, but I can pretty much guarantee that as well as dropping the legal pharmaceuticals which are literally the modern day socially acceptable ""drinking yourself senseless and an early grave"" alternative method to cope with it all, try turning off your fucking TV sets which will improve your mental wellbeing tenfold. Warning, prolonged lack of exposure to the malicious weaponised media may cause you to suddenly realise just what the fuck is going on, realise that colds have existed and will continue to exist forever and the media are actively seeking to destroy society and its all been one massive horrific gas-lit mindfuck, so back to the pills and or drink again... Maybe a few episodes of Ruddy Hell! It's Harry and Paul can be safely consumed in moderation."

Re: Anxiety/depression
I've had anxiety. And i've had depression. I got very depressed about it all and found it bought on my anxiety a bit. I flew a kite yesterday. I let the string play out through me hands - the kite caught the wind and was whipped about like a anxious bit of plastic on the end of a length of string. Its true
