"Been through bad time lately with suffering with this. Dark thoughts as well. I know some posters on here suffer with this. Anyone come through the other side of this shit?

"A number of posters have been yellow carded and told to stay off this thread unless they have anything constructive to add. This is a thread that has been very useful to so many, for any other posters with scores to settle, argue on another thread. This thread is sacrosant.Thank you"

"If I can add my best wishes for good luck on 3 Jan, then I do so. To be honest, every time there's a new post on this thread I open it with not a little trepidation, but more recently the mood had been more upbeat. For those still suffering (in silence, it would seem, for which they may well have a very valid not-for-me-to-judge reason) I hope things are also moving in a more positive direction."

I went for a endoscope on Tuesday just for a check up and ended up having varices banding ! I opted as always for the throat spray and then told me I had bleeding varices so I signed a consent form and the next thing I woke up in bed ...I have another endoscope booked for the 3rd Jan and sounds like I'll be having frequent checks for the rest of my life.....Well done the NHS for being on the ball and caring for me so promptly. Ah well shit happens ;-(

"All the very best to everyone suffering here. I spoke with my consultant about taking corticosteroid tablets, he advised against stating that 30% get mania, 30% get depression and 40% ok. Some get suicidal thoughts, some dementia like symptoms many get better, some don't. Some got worse when treatment stopped so had to restart becoming dependent then given antidepressants which made symptoms worse. I had a Google and seems about correct. Made me think whether anyone had suffered depression as a side effect after taking corticosteroids?"

"Pervy McBeer 11:56 Mon Oct 24 Give some thought to the lighting in your environment. I've got an uplighter with reading light in each of the 4 corners of my lounge. Every evening, before 9pm, the uplights are turned off leaving only the downward facing weaker reading lights. Apparently this tricks/conditions your body that sunset has taken place and you naturally start to relax into sleep preparation. Also banning all electronic stuff from the bedroom helps (most especially your phone & TV), and if you must have an alarm, get one with a dull red LED display. Takes about a month for your body to adjust, so don't expect instant results."

"Pervy McBeer 9:13 Sun Oct 23 Have you got any ""ME Time"" in your day? I don't mean ""Me & she who must be obeyed time"", or ""ME and I'll take a break in a minute time"". I mean ""ME, NOW time"". Just be selfish and do nothing, doodle, scrunch up newspaper and lob it into the bin from across the room, pick your nose, anything you don't need to do, but are just fucking doing it, anyway. 5 - 10 minutes. I wouldn't let trying to extend your family become a stress for either of you - nature knows best and will decide when it's right."

"Pervy So you’re fucking loads but getting stressed/twitchy eyed about it? I can’t take the piss too much, my body in its wisdom, decides too make me go blind when I’m too stressed, it’s weird as fuck! It’s not too much wanking either before anyone says anything, if that was the case i would’ve had a white stick before I was 17"

Anyone ever had a twitching eye lid related to anxiety? Ive had it for a month now. It comes and goes probably once a year but it if you do the dreaded google search it says it isnt normal for it to last this long and could mean underlying health conditions like MS. Which then makes me even more anxious and induces a shed load more symptoms that COULD be related to something serious. But also flagged as anxiety symptoms. I dont feel obviously stressed but work is pretty full on and my other half and i are going through a very lengthy battled to get pregnant. Life certainly isnt plain sailing and you think youre coping but maybe stuff like the eye lid twitching is your bodies way of telling you that youre not. Or just reminding you its there at least. I just wish my body dealt with it better.
