"Maybe it's management/HR that has the (institutionalised) racism issue and they're trying to dilute/disperse it across the whole workforce in the hope that they can carry on as before without drawing any attention to themselves. It always seemed to me that down at ""the coal face"" where actual company wealth is generated, people just accepted each other as part of the team and got on with their job - sure there was always one or two at that level with racist views but the workers tended to ""self-police"" the issue and most such disruptors would choose to leave when they realised what nonsense they were spouting actually had the opposite effect and drew a team closer together. "I know it goes without saying but I'm guessing they didn't send out a similar email replacing ""black"" with ""white"" after the Waukesha christmas attack. Not only that, that email implies all black people on the planet share some sort of connected consciousness, when ""black"" people are much more diverse and comprises of many more different ethnicities than white people.
