Mashed. agree entirely with your sentiments but it is the leaderships of great western powers that have ushered in and nurtured the post-truth era. Wokeism exists and flourishes because society is at the same time in thrall and in fear of social media. And it suits our leaders to perpetuate that sorry state of affairs. Why else would they preside so impotently over its emergence?

That's why having good faith discussions just isn't gonna work to fight back against this stuff."

The problems, to me, seem to arise from parents grabbing onto that phase and using it to define their child's future. This is then supported by thousands of faceless ""likes"" on social media which said parents decode somehow as implicit support for their (not their child's) choice; seems that the child can only ""choose"" something the parents believe in. Two of my three daughters (no links) went through ""tom-boy"" stages (even fewer links) when they were young, but through their own choices left that behind before they reached their teens."
