w4hammer In general I agree with you 100%. I just don't agree with you on this particular programme for the reasons I explained. If you read the book then you'll see clearly that the two woke characters in that scene were supposed to be twats. The male character did indeed embarrass the woman friend but that was because he was a bit pissed and went a bit far. But it didn't come across at all to me that he was wrong in what he was saying - just that he was a bit pissed and didn't pull his punches.

The two woke twats in that scene were clearly the ones meant to be idiots. It was a brilliant scene. There are multiple sympathetic white characters in the programme. You're just looking for reasons to be offended. JK Rowling got dog's abuse for the book (that was turned into the tv programme) because it was insufficiently woke.
