By default, whatever he says is using the global impartial brand image of the BBC and, working backwards from that, many will assume - rightly or wrongly - that he, whatever is claimed, is speaking on behalf of and for that organisation. If the wants to air his un-impartial views, he must totally distance himself from the BBC. If he wants to maintain his status at the BBC, he needs to keep those views to himself - or, at least, not present them in a manner that can be recorded and reported. It's a case, here, of either/or, not a slice from both cakes."

I am left leaning and did not agree with most of what Margaret Thatcher did (the single market was her brainchild) but at least they had a grip of the task in hand a lot of the time and she and her government had a plan. Even Cameron sort of had one even though we are still feeling austerity now but the last four PMs and their administrations appear not to have any idea what they are doing beyond the end the current press cycle. Calling them terrible is fair enough as they demonstrably are just that.

The whole anti boris hysteria and constant slagging of the tories for one, but also their embracing of victim culture and identity politics/Wokeism which I consider to be leftist. The content speaks for itself regardless of the political affiliations of senior employees. It’s an issue because we are forced by law to pay for it and therefore it should be unbiased but I don’t really care as I don’t pay the license fee and rarely watch it. (However when I do have it in when visiting my parents the narrative always seems to be immigration = 100% good)"
