Woke watch
"There is a very good section on GB news where the ludicrous idiocies of Wokeness are looked at I thought we would should have one for WHO. I'll start with Baptiste on BBC: In Hungary,an ambassador's family are kidnapped by Islamic terrorists and carry out atrocities. At the end of the last episode Baptiste finds out that it is a false flag operation and conveniently, the real culprits are white supremacists who want to stop all immigration. Coronation Street ITV a gay black footballer is stopped by the police, because he is driving an expensive car. He is pushed to the ground during an altercation, and damages his leg threatening his career. Could have been written by Dawn Butler or a BLM activist."

"stewie griffin 11:57 Sat Mar 11 I don't watch the BBC much if at all. But I am pretty sure I saw a promo for Sugar and the Apprentice currently running. Neil was left for years spout personal opinions while working for the BBC and uncensored. You seem a bit fixated with Gary's tax affairs. Linekar was only repeating an opinion expressed by 83yr old Joan Salter over a month ago. “In 1943, I was forced to flee my birthplace in Belgium and went across war-torn Europe and dangerous seas until I finally was able to come to the UK in 1947. “When I hear you using words against refugees like ‘swarms’ and an ‘invasion’, I am reminded of the language used to dehumanise and justify the murder of my family and millions of others. Why do you find the need to use that kind of language?”"

Until then, I'll just have to assume you are a massive twat."

"Lineker hasn’t been silenced, like most who just hate the tories like most of us he went over the top on his views. If he’d had a bit of respect for history he’d know he was using the totally wrong comparison…..I mean those human trafficking gangs they want to be seen to be stopping are the French resistance with his comment. Now all he’s done is distract the conversation away from whatever is being proposed…..lastly I don’t want an ex-footballer who’s spent most his time trying to be a saint when he’s clearly not….."

I might actually watch it tonight to see if the world feed commentators are any less annoying than the regular ones.

Re: Woke watch
"Happy- I don't watch anything on the bbc so I have no idea if they're still employed there, last I heard Neill left three years ago, but if they do and they air their political views they shouldn't be there, so I'm not entirely sure what your point is. That's the problem for all you people who pick teams in this stuff. Just end up getting yourselves in a muddle. Here we have a tax dodging millionaire, who makes a bunch of noises about caring about the little people and his actions indicate that the exact opposite is true - for example his involvement and substantial payment at the Qatar World Cup. He's everything that the left despise, and yet here he is being held up as a paragon of virtue. Its laughable, and as I say, people's determination to pick a team and politicise absolutely every tiny little thing just looks very very stupid."

I always thought he was jug eared cսnt after he sarcastically clapped the lino when Gordon DURIE was sent off for an assault on Stuart SLATER. My opinion remains unchanged.

Re: Woke watch
"the exile 11.34 Of COURSE it has to do with his actual opinions and comments; I suggest you go back and read what he said... He is comparing the government to Nazi Germany... and this is not the first time he has spoken way out of order given his supposedly neutral role within the BBC. He keeps on saying and doing things that he knows will antagonise the vast majority of ordinary folk in the UK, and then acts surprised when it all kicks off. He is either very cunning, or very stupid. I know which one I would go for... He and Shearer are getting around 8 and 4 times our PM's salary for 'talking about football'... C'MON..!! Either way, it's always fun to watch the Left chew its own legs off..."

Re: Woke watch
"Actually, it has precisely nothing to do with free speech, that's just what Shearer, Wright and Neville want to conflate it with in order for Lineker to be absolved. Very simply, it's about the terms and conditions of his employment. He, like every BBC employee, signs an agreement regarding impartiality. Even in his claim as a freelancer, he agrees to abide by this. It's pretty straightforward to prove this out.. stroll into work on Monday, call everyone there a nazi or do something else that breaches your terms of employment, and see it how it works out. He has, in fact, got off lightly because of his profile. You, me and everyone else would be sacked on the spot."
Re: Woke watch
"The crux of this whole furore is about free speech and has nothing to do with Lineker's actual opinions. If some cameraman who works on MOTD had tweeted exactly the same thing as Lineker, nobody would give a shit because he probably only has a couple of hundred followers so very few people outside of his own circle are bothered by it. So Lineker is being punished for having a huge following, but how can you justify silencing him and not the other guy?"

Re: Woke watch
"The problem for the BBC is that stacking your upper echelons with actively political figures, is always going to bring succour to those who are suspicious that decisions like this are politically motivated. Still, it is great for the culture wars agenda."

Re: Woke watch
"Pretty sure 1930s Germany weren't spending £7 million a day housing asylum seekers. Also pretty sure they didn't give a shit how many people died trying to get there (on that point they share more in common with lineker than the government) But then, I'm also pretty sure that they didn't have multiple millionaire football commentators who use loopholes to avoid paying their fair share of tax to the tune of millions, millions which could of course be used to help those less fortunate. Other than that, it's an excellent comparison"
