Woke watch
"There is a very good section on GB news where the ludicrous idiocies of Wokeness are looked at I thought we would should have one for WHO. I'll start with Baptiste on BBC: In Hungary,an ambassador's family are kidnapped by Islamic terrorists and carry out atrocities. At the end of the last episode Baptiste finds out that it is a false flag operation and conveniently, the real culprits are white supremacists who want to stop all immigration. Coronation Street ITV a gay black footballer is stopped by the police, because he is driving an expensive car. He is pushed to the ground during an altercation, and damages his leg threatening his career. Could have been written by Dawn Butler or a BLM activist."

"I know there's a lot of disagreement about what constitutes Woke but this is the sort of thing I mean when I say it. A warped view of gender that is pushed in an unquestioning, cult like fashion. Brought to you by Libs of Tiktok, a 13 yr old drag queen dancing like a stripper in front of a massive crowd of adults. The really fucked up thing is that our cousin's in the media over the water really do see this as something to be celebrated and not the absolute nonce fest that it is. A society that encourages this deserves to go under. https://mobile.twitter.com/libsoftiktok/status/1639266932258906113"

"Surf Well indeed. The lack of civilised, honest discussion about pretty much every big issue is the root of an awful lot of today's woes. And I will freely admit the 'left' is hugely to blame for this. And it reaped what it sowed with the Brexit vote. Of course with social media at the fingertips of every foaming miscreant, Churchill's line about a lie getting halfway around the world before the truth gets a chance to pull its pants on has never been more prescient."

Re: Woke watch
"FO Agreed. Shock or hyperbole can be very effective. Now, I despise the tax-dodging champagne socialist Jimmy Carr, but his recent controversial joke was superb. He wasn't being anti-Semitic, or anti-gypsy or pro-Nazi. He was making the point that even today, much of society thinks it's OK to be racist against gypsies. He was trying to make people think. The problem is that people are too quick to condemn political opponents as racist/sexist/whatever for remarks that are obviously or perhaps not quite so obviously anti-racist/sexist/whatever. It's lazy and ultimately damaging to society."

"FO You may be right about the bit where he added the 'I apologise' bit. I didn't see it, although I only had a quick google and just read a couple of articles, one of which was in the Guardian. But I was responding to 360 who was pretending that Johnson not only apologised for racist remarks but resigned (I'm not sure from what) for them. He didn't admit to racism or apologise for it."

"Surf. Yes I had read the article and understood the meaning implied by Johnson - hence why I didn't accuse him of racism. Given he knows full well the importance of language however, I suspect he knew it would cause a palaver and by dint appeal to elements of his base support. Which of course may be viewed uncharitably. The apology I read was this: ""I feel sad that people have been offended by those words and I apologise for them."""
Re: Woke watch
Great examples here which illustrate institutional issues that are reported. The usual suspects on this site rush to the defence of Boris Johnson and Cllr McEvoy's comments because they genuinely cannot see anything wrong with what they've said. This is analogous to the behaviours in the Met Police report.

"Incidentally, FO and Goose are being generous to that councillor. 'Black hypocrite' is racist, though some might (wrongly) try and defend it on the basis that he is both black and a hypocrite. The councillor actual called him a 'typical black racist', which is indefensible in any way."

Re: Woke watch
"Fo the Communist 12:09 Fri Mar 24 I'm pretty sure Johnson didn't apologise, and he certainly didn't admit to racism. He said he was sad that people were offended by words that were taken out of context. This is what he wrote, according to the Guardian: ""What a relief it must be for Blair to get out of England. It is said that the Queen has come to love the Commonwealth, partly because it supplies her with regular cheering crowds of flag-waving piccaninnies,"" he wrote. It also mentioned ""watermelon smiles"". It's a blistering attack on the way that white politicians and statesmen cynically use the inhabitants of less developed countries to further their own purposes. His language was immoderate but was clearly intended to be shocking in order to emphasise his entirely anti-racist position."
Re: Woke watch
It seems to be two sides to racists comments 1 those that are excepted by the Labour Party 2 those that are not excepted by the Labour Party. But the most worrying thing is the according to the left you only a racist if your white. I wonder how much ethnic cleansing has been carried out in the likes of Africa and Asia

"Twoleft As I said at the time: ""Well for starters, what's being black got to do with being a hypocrite? ""Secondly, it implies that black people are typically hypocrites."" Oh, and Goose is right too."
Re: Woke watch
feet is you cannot accept that calling Ian Wright a black hypocrite is racist then you are lost. there is no need for the word 'black' to be in that tweet unless you want to draw attention to his skin colour. you can call someone a hypocrite without having to state their skin colour. the colour of his skin is irrelevant to his hypocrisy.

Re: Woke watch
Sorry communist I’m clearly not as intelligent as you so please explain why her tweet was racist? Ian Wright is black She thinks he is a hypocrite Where is the racism in that? People are allowed to say “ white privilege “ every day so why is that not deemed as racist? It would appear there are 2 sets of rules.

"threesixty 5:48 Wed Mar 22 'You mean like Boris and his “pickaniny and watermelon smiles” thing … yeah , he resigned didn’t he?' You either didn't read the article, in which case you don't have the right to comment, or you did read it, which means you are either thick or disingenuous. Typical 'there is no such thing as society' leftie."

"“ Nice to see that those on the right pay the price for tweets but those on the left carry on unfiltered.” You mean like Boris and his “pickaniny and watermelon smiles” thing … yeah , he resigned didn’t he? Oh… He became PM you say? Oh right… Oh that wasn’t a tweet, that’s was an article in a national newspaper! That’s different!!"

"twoleftfeet 12:56 Wed Mar 22 One was a clearly racist Tweet, the other wasn't. And her resignation will most probably be on the insistence of her own party (not THE LEFT). Hope that helps."
