Woke watch
"There is a very good section on GB news where the ludicrous idiocies of Wokeness are looked at I thought we would should have one for WHO. I'll start with Baptiste on BBC: In Hungary,an ambassador's family are kidnapped by Islamic terrorists and carry out atrocities. At the end of the last episode Baptiste finds out that it is a false flag operation and conveniently, the real culprits are white supremacists who want to stop all immigration. Coronation Street ITV a gay black footballer is stopped by the police, because he is driving an expensive car. He is pushed to the ground during an altercation, and damages his leg threatening his career. Could have been written by Dawn Butler or a BLM activist."

"Nutsin In answer to your questions: You can't slaughter an animal in the UK without a, licence to my knowledge. 90% of ""halal"" meat on sale in uk is actually pre stunned before slaughter so for some ultra orthodox Muslims it's not considered halal. I believe the 10% unstunned meat is imported but I could be wrong on that point. Being opposed to halal slaughter is perfectly reasonable. The reasons you cut and paste for why Muslims traditionally slaughter without stunning are nonsense though."

Re: Woke watch
A school has called in police over allegations that female pupils were sexually assaulted in its gender-neutral lavatories. A teenage boy has been arrested over four allegations of “serious sexual assault” at the Essex school. The Daily Telegraph understands three of the alleged attacks took place in lavatories used by boys and girls. The case has led MPs and campaigners to question the safety of mixed-sex lavatories and changing rooms days before the Government is expected to release its transgender guidance for schools.

"Is this true? If so, is it allowed in the U K now like Sharia law is? Allahu Akbar - The Knives Are Being Sharpened! Muslims around the world will be celebrating the barbaric Islamic Holiday of Eid al-Adha... Their idea of celebrating is cutting the throats of tied-up, fully conscious animals without cutting their spinal cords because that would alleviate pain. Muslims believe the longer animals writhe in pain, the more the panic hormones are released, which makes meat taste better."

Interesting article in Unherd saying that long covid sufferers are mostly female liberals and trans. They then go on in depth with a lot of science about why that might be. https://unherd.com/2023/06/is-liberal-society-making-us-ill/

Re: Woke watch
"Curious how some on here are going to defend this.... ""The “coming for your children” chant has been used for years at Pride events, according to longtime march attendees and gay rights activists, who said it’s one of many provocative expressions used to regain control of slurs against LGBTQ people. And in this case, they said, right-wing activists are jumping on a single video to weaponize an out-of-context remark to further stigmatize the queer community."" https://www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/nbc-out-proud/re-coming-children-chant-nyc-drag-march-elicits-outrage-activists-say-rcna91341 The pro-LGBT lobby are already pivoting from ""no one is threatening your children"" to ""ok, they're threatening your children but its only bantz"". Next step will likely be ""yes, they're threatening your children, but its a good thing"". The west gave this lot everything they asked for, full equality, even preferential treatment, their own days/weeks/months to celebrate, all on ONE condition: leave kids alone. And they're unable to do it. Why?"

"Fifth Column 5:05 Tue Jun 27 I'd be 100% behind the third category option - I'd probably not even object to a portion of my tax being used to fund such options publicly. I can't see why I'd need to though. As I've mentioned, nations in SE Asia have had workable solutions in place at least since the Vietnam War, and probably much longer. Never seen or heard any complaints from the trans/ladyboys/khatoeys there. The ""That's there, we're here"" argument doesn't hold up - we're all human, wherever we live."

"Mike To be fair most of the things Debs has mentioned don't cost anything, they are to treat men as women legally in certain circumstances. I think that's a terrible idea in almost all circumstances but it's largely cost neutral. My outline of a solution to the argument in providing male, female and ""third/open"" spaces would come at a cost. Though as I said it's moot because all the Trans Identifying Male advocacy groups just want TIMs to be considered women legally. So there is no compromise possible for these narcissist advocates. That being the case they should just get nothing."

Re: Woke watch
They'd probably argue that 95% was not good enough as it would be quite traumatic for the 5% to end up feeling humiliated by bring wrongly sexed Those jobs that carry exemptions will primarily be governed with protecting vulnerable children and adults (.i think that's correct) and quite frankly their safety is paramount as is tbevsafety and we'll being if other staff looking after that individual.or group. I am.not saying a trans person would not do a good job but if a role calls for a female then the needs of tbe service user come first and they get a female. That said I have no issues if a post op man/woman or vice versa applies for and gets that role. While someone is simply identifying then current exemptions are adequate. .

Re: Woke watch
"Debs Again this is the whole point. There are exemptions in Equality Act to allow for recruitment of someone female in certain circs. Stonewall etc want to remove those exemptions. Most women rights campaigns are about retaining the law as it is. It's TIM advocacy groups like Stonewall that wish to reduce your rights. As for ""policing"" no it's not true. Policing of refuges, prisons etc is extremely straightforward. Same with women's sports. In terms of open access public spaces like toilets, generally social convention leads to men not using women's toilets rather than the law. By providing a third space it gives women the social ""permission"" to challenge men trying to access their spaces. If Tim's seek to break the law then that's on them but it's not a reason not to implement a law ie we can't implement that because some people might break the law. Also research shows humans are able to accurately sex another human on sight over 95% of the time so the idea it's v difficult to judge someone's sex on sight is almost always bollocks yet that's another argument the Tim's make."

"""what next? a report telling us that the bricklaying trade is sexist?"" Lol. That ship sailed long ago, we've been having periodic whinges/lectures on why there aren't enough women in construction/utilities/engineering for at least the last 2 decades, as well as countless bodies and campaigns designed to solve this apparently important issue. 3rd result on google, specifically about brickies: https://www.theguardian.com/careers/careers-blog/2015/may/19/where-are-all-the-women-why-99-of-construction-site-workers-are-male"

"Fifth that would be trickier to.police for some things than others . The other potential.sution would be to.have legal.exemotions as with some jobs. It is perfectly reasonable (I think most would agree), to have an exemption for say lesbian dating sites/ groups. Assuming the exemption is for pre-op men. If I were gay I'd be most peeved to go.on a date with what I thought was a female to.end up looking at the last turkey in the shop. (*copyright Blackadder)"
