Woke watch
"There is a very good section on GB news where the ludicrous idiocies of Wokeness are looked at I thought we would should have one for WHO. I'll start with Baptiste on BBC: In Hungary,an ambassador's family are kidnapped by Islamic terrorists and carry out atrocities. At the end of the last episode Baptiste finds out that it is a false flag operation and conveniently, the real culprits are white supremacists who want to stop all immigration. Coronation Street ITV a gay black footballer is stopped by the police, because he is driving an expensive car. He is pushed to the ground during an altercation, and damages his leg threatening his career. Could have been written by Dawn Butler or a BLM activist."

Re: Woke watch
Sky sports is just as woke as the BBC. Men’s cricket is virtually dominated by women commentators and analysts. It’s not as though there isn’t women’s matches for them to cover.

Re: Woke watch
"Alfs 5:22 Sun Aug 13 That's fairly interesting; when I moved into management I was given an unadvertised role that, had it been included in the job description, I would have swerved like a swervy thing; presenting to the chairman & board of BT International, annually, how they were doing, what was good, what was bad, suggestions for improvement, that sort of thing. I spend most of the preparation time dreading it, but - apparently because if that preparation, meaning I knew the subject - once the presentation started I was off - even managing to drop a few ""Romford innuendoes"" into my responses to the (frequent) interruptions, which seemed to loosen the often delicate atmosphere. I still never enjoyed it that much even though by the third time of doing so just before the presentation (of less than 30 minutes), one of the Directors in the audience announced loudly that ""This was an event they had come to look forward to each year."". Indeed a feather in my manager's cap. And his manager's...and HIS managers...and even HIS managers - they all came along for the show. I would have probably shat in my cap, had I been wearing one. So, yeah, preparation and training are very big, unseen parts in presentation. ""Training? You never mentioned training!"" Apparently, it seems my then manager was so impressed with the way I told our major equipment manufacturers what they were doing wrong (nothing spectacularly major for the most part, I should add) that he knew I'd be a ""natural"" for the role. THAT was all the training I needed. Me? As soon as I saw the presentation content I thought ""Poisoned chalice; no wonder none of the existing managers wanted anything to do with it"", and I felt for at least 5 years that I was being sent out as a messenger to be shot for the message I carried. I had to do regular presentations once I moved into contracting and never, ever learned to enjoy the moment, so, yeah, it is a special skill. Still think Linekar's a cսnt, though - the skills he has are not mutually exclusive."
Re: Woke watch
"arsene york-hunt 3:04 Sun Aug 13 You have no idea of the skill needed to present to camera. Particularly with no rehearsal time. Google his first appearance and you will see that he was terrible. But the BBC believed in him and he spent months and months listening to his tutors and directors, determined to become a good presenter. And he has more than achieved that. He's now trusted with live presenting, and that is a real honour as that is incredibly hard. Do you not think that if the BBC could get someone to be just as good, just as charming, just as funny, and cheaper, they would do? Jermaine Jenas, Alex Scott, et al, they are all thoroughly trained on autocue as it can't look like they are reading. Along with that, they need the ability to look natural and often to improvise. As a test, get your partner of friend, if you have one, to film you reading this post, without an um or an eh whilst still making it sound conversational. Then post a link to your video. As you say, thousands can do it."

"I gave up on MOTD after the last world cup. The hypocrisy of Linekar, Shearer et al did it for me. Shame as i had watched it since the mid 60's when my old man used to get me up to watch it with him. Sky sports you tube channel gives me all the coverage i need now, fuck the BBC."

"Just saw Match of the Day was on. Don't usually watch it but as soon as the game ended and I saw Lineker I had to switch off. £1.4 million for a bloke doing a job that thousands could do as well for a fraction of the price: and then there's the sanctimonious virtue signalling, and his stupid face just begging for a thump."

Just before one dance a young female dance told the kids the next story/dance was about a mermaid swimming in the sea then just before the music started she said ''or merman afterwards I went up to her and asked her did she really say merman ? and if so did she believe what she was saying. She just walked off . I give up .

Re: Woke watch
"One of my offspring is into this Action Roll-play thing where they re-enact past battles & stuff, only this crowd focus on fictional battles rather than the historical real thing. I said to her the other week - as a throw-away line - that they should put on a ""Trans, LBGMGBGT-How's-yer-father"" version of one of the more spectacular battles (LOTR, Dune, that sort of thing). She laughed heartily and apparently mentioned it in passing at one of their ""meets"". When everybody stopped laughing, there was a silence, she said, as the cogs whirred and people began thinking ""Yeah, that'd work/be a fucking hoot"". Bound to cause enormous offence, so I said I'd sponsor it for a couple of bags just for the LOLZ."

Re: Woke watch
"O1bb you wrote thus remember ""Funny how one of the wokeist parts of the UK ( York) is also one of the whitest. Very easy to be right on when you live far away from the issues you get all righteous about.' Hardly surprising that I thought you were criticising YH You have stated on here ( because I remember debating it with you) that the only manifestation of racism.you recognised as being racism.was when someone was attacked for being non white . As for making things up.there may be instances of that but there also.many of gaslighting where someone who is never likely to be on the wrong end of racism.tells someone hasn't experienced it when they have."

Re: Woke watch
"Debs. I did't critisise YH, in fact i didnt even mention him in my post so please stop making stuff up (again). I have never once said there is no racism so again, stop making stuff up. I wasnt moaning and i made no mention of black people, again, stop making stuff up. I said in the past that racism is going through a supply and demand problem in the eyes of some. They demand more of it so they can get to feel all self righteous by attacking it but the supply isnt always there so guess what they do? Yep, they make shit up."

Re: Woke watch
WHU(Exeter) 4:50 Thu Aug 10 Perhaps those with the power to resolve the issue don't want to do so as it would then mean that they have to go to the bother of finding/creating a new sub-class upon which they can sneeringly look down their privileged noses at in their dinner-party approved manner. Teaching people how to work their own way out of poverty will threaten a lot of entitled social positions.
