"Think it was in a Jacob Steinberg article where he said we were looking at a couple of Championship players Callum O'hare 26yo (tomorrow!) winger from Coventry available on a free Jacob Greaves 23yo 6'4 centre half from Hull. We were linked previously, perhaps Bowen can put in a word"

"I see little issue with that. It'll be for a high figure. I have no real issue with Paqueta's either. It pretty much gives an ultimatum if a team wants to buy him with no messing about. It's either that figure, or you don't get him."

No they signed last season. Because Timothy had just walked in the door and had to go with what they had. And maybe because Moyes still had full say on who stays and who goes.?

So you reckon they called our bluff last summer when they signed their extensions?

It good PR for the club. Club offers a contract. (A very low rate. On their T&C’s.) Players turn them down. And leaves on their terms. Player turns down contract. Leaves. Finds employment elsewhere. But starts too look like a greedy footballer the moment they start cunting off previous club. Pick your poison.

"all these older players need to be moved on. casey has more than enough talent to be one of the alternative CBs in the squad. scarles another at LB, we just need that jock minge gone for any chance of it happening"

Once Silva leaves Chelsea Fabianski will become the league's oldest player. There's still a chance we'll see the Dad's Army Defence line up again next season. -----------------Fabianski Coufal - Zouma - Ogbonna - Cresswell

"It doesn't make any sense. Just like it didn't last summer when we offered him an extension. I did LOL at the ""Ogbonna didn't put a foot wrong at the weekend (can't blame him for the og)"" bit though."

"Personally I think Ogbonna makes perfect sense, as long as he is on drastically reduced wages. Ogbonna didn't put a foot wrong at the weekend (can't blame him for the og) and he is definitely a fantastic character to have around the squad. If we are (hopefully) going to go with a more youthful set up then having some experience around the place would be very valuable. Perhaps he can have a player / coach role."

"Maybe the thinking with Cresswell is he tops up the homegrown quarter, no excuse though as he was finished three years ago. Apparently he's rejected it again anyway, thinks he can get two years with a northern club. Ogbonna makes no sense at all."

I think Potts showed in pre-season he could definitely do a job for us as a squad player. Hopefully next season he proves that. As a CM in that league doing well is a big positive.

They'd have been decent enough additions this season. Better additions than Phillips has been for us this season. I'm just reading that we offered Ogbonna and Cresswell years contracts to carry on next summer. That's a HUGE worry we still have complete idiots in some kind of player recruitment role.

"Freddie Potts for Wycombe Wanderers in League One this season: ✅ Most tackles won (89) ✅ Most interceptions (56) ✅ Second-most passes (1246) ✅ Second-most take-ons completed (26) Voted Wycombe 2023/24 Supporters’ Player of the Year, what a phenomenal season he's had"

"No idea how good he actually is or whether the new manager will think he's good enough to be a squad player even but Andy Irving said this about himself last month: ""I believe that I can go to West Ham and show my quality. It’s a challenge I’m very excited for. I understand the level that I’m going to and it’s up to me to show that I can play at that level."""

"Andy Irving Deals ""Hammer"" Blow • Klagenfurt 0v2 Salzburg - HT • Andy Irving ⚽️⚽️⚽️ in 22mins He now has 8⚽️/4A in the Bundesliga in 20 Starts this season after signing for West Ham & being loaned out An Unbelievable Season 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⚽️🇦🇹 Anyone know what the plan is with this guy. Obviously had a good season in Austria. 23 years old, you have to assume he was a TS pick as he has played all his football in Germany / Austria. Presumably he will be absorbed into the squad for next season."

We'll need players in every single position apart from right wing. The legacy of Moyes.

"Too early to be racking my brains about this, and that's before we know who the new head coach is, but suffice to say it's a big rebuilding job (again) and we have the worst set of CB's in the PL."

"Southampton crashed and burned again last night without Flynn Downes, they don’t seem to be able to perform without him. I hope we bring him back and give him a chance to play alongside Alvarez in his best position."

"I'd have a long look at Caleb Wiley (19 years old, lb/lm) and Noah Cobb (18 years old, cb). Both are in MLS at Atlanta and play like veterans already. Wiley has very good pace and vision. He's deployed as a lb but better on the wing. Cobb is a little more green with less experience but still savvy for his age. They might need a loan to gain experience first, but I expect both will be playing european football inside 2/3 years."

"Watched Leeds last night. Summerville looked good as did Gray and Gnonto. 22,18 & 20 respectively. Would all be good additions, particularly if Leeds fail to get promotion."

I think we will target Championship players as they seem to be hungry and have a point to prove aswell as helping us with the home grown quota
