"Massive gamble? It's an exciting signing a Brazilian that has attracted interest from top teams, been highly rated for a couple of years for what is a moderate fee. What's not to like?"

"Obvious promise. But where to play him? Not gonna displace Bowen, and with no apparent right foot (as yet). But here's hoping."

Think of it as spending the money from Kehrer & Fornals Or the funds from the imminent Benrahma sale

£20m isnt much of a gamble these days is it? He seems highly rated and will actually have a decent coach improving and getting the best out of him Jack Clarke and Jobe Bellingham have been quoted for similar fees as a comparison

Watched that video - some of his movement had a touch of Georgie Best about them - audaciously deceptive and almost impossible to read. Team him with a decent target man and we could have a machine here (provided he don't get the shit kicked out of him). We probably need a Billy Bonds type figure in defence now to take care of anybody clattering him the same way Billy looked after Sir Trev when he got floored.

"The more I look in to him and what the deal potentially represents, this is a pretty huge move made by the Club as the boy (man now) does appear to have 'it'. I managed to find a more detailed extended video of where the scouting department are going with Guilherme as it really does illustrate his use of both feet, speed, imagination and footballing intelligence for one that produced it all up to the age of 17yo during a range of competitiveness matches. .. https://youtu.be/W4kkG3T2LxY?si=0ZrmRWfDHPQDYITC I repeat, the boy was no older than 17 doing all that. He has a huge future ahead of him and I may have even done him a disservice yesterday by saying he may not be able to produce next season.."

"So he's going to cost 19.5m GBP plus add ons based on goal scoring. Seems a pretty decent deal for someone considered one of the top talents in Brazil, now that we have a manager who at least seems open to use of talented kids. In November 23, Tim Vickery (South American expert) wrote: A winger of huge potential, he picked up big-game experience this season and big things are expected in 2024. Strengths: A left-footed winger who plays on the right. He has searing acceleration, tight dribbling skills, intimidating power and a creative left foot. How he can improve: He needs to improve his right foot. At the moment if he can't beat his marker for pace, he can be neutralised by showing him out towards the touchline."

"Was never convinced an 18 year old Brazilian wonderkid would go to Saudi, it would be tragic. That said, I'm not overfussed about this, but I suppose we need to justify the work and expense we have put into Brazil these past few years with a signing."

"Girona Spanish Journo.... WEST HAM and JULEN LOPETEGUI are thrown by Aleix Garcia (advanced interest in @eduardsola ). The Premier League team has submitted an offer higher than that of Leverkusen (around 16 million euros). They do NOT play Europe, but the offer to Aleix is VERY IMPORTANT. We are certainly flashing the cash and going all out for players this Summer under Lopetegui/Steidten. The carbon foot print by Steidten is gonna he through the roof and hippie protests are bound to happen outside the Stadium cos of it. 🛫🛬🛫🛬"

"BillyJenningsBoots 7:57 Mon Jun 3 I have no idea why you're putting that in my direction. The only point I made is that if anyone is fucking thick enough to buy a season ticket based on the fact we might sign an 18 year old kid from Brazil, they need help. That aside, it looks like he will sign, so you pair of helmets can stop having panic attacks."

"Steinbergs now changed his tune on his article... Meanwhile, West Ham are battling to complete the £25.5m signing of the Palmeiras winger, Luis Guilherme, but they face competition from clubs in Europe and the Saudi Pro League. Tim Steidten, West Ham’s technical director, has been leading the push for a deal for the 18-year-old, who is rated as one of the best young players in Brazil. It emerged on Monday morning that the move for Guilherme was on the brink of collapsing over personal terms. However, West Ham have renewed optimism about their chances of signing Guilherme, who is capable of playing in a variety of attacking positions. They had feared that they would not be able to compete with the wages that the Brazil Under-20 international can expect to receive if he moves to Saudi Arabia. But Steidten has been in Brazil for talks and West Ham want to back the German. They hope that Guilherme, who has been linked with Bayern Munich and Chelsea, will see moving to the Premier League as beneficial for his development."

More from the Brazilian Journos.. Palmeiras are unaware of any interest from Saudi Arabia for Luis Guilherme. They are currently exchanging documents with West Ham. The 18 year old's management wouldn't entertain such offers as they care about his progression. @andrehernan Someone's playing silly buggers and it feels to me like Sullivan up to his old tricks.
