The window hasn't even started yet and doesn't end for a long time. Getting deals done in such a competitive market must be pretty mind fucking. That's why developing a player might be a route that avoids the worst excesses of the market apart from the sheer cost of running a youth set up. Anyway. I guess I'll keep my incontinence pants in the closet until August.

"As usual it looks like another window is going to pass without any new full/wing backs. We really don't do full backs do we, with Emerson being the only exception of late. Anyway, very very early still."

"Just been reading about the new post Brexit work permit rules for Elite Significant Contribution (ESC). Apart from the usual points based criteria there's always been, now clubs can get between 1-4 players who don't qualify on that basis. This would particularly be the case for younger players, non-Internationals or those from smaller leagues or countries, the sort that Steidten is apparently after. Whether a club can register 1, 2, 3 or 4 of those ESC players in any one season is related to the percentage of minutes that the club's England Qualified Players took part in during the previous season. >= 35%

"Saïd Benrahma created more chances (2.76) and provided more passes into the opposition's penalty area (2.44) per 90 than any other player for Lyon in all comeptitions last season. Played 15, scored 3 goals, assisted 4. Helped them to qualify for Europa League and get them to a Cup Final only to lose to PSG 2-1. It was always the Player Killer that ruined him, until the inevitable revival once he moved - Also see Fornals, Scamacca, Downes, Kehrer."

"Blimey, its all go ain't it... Said Benrahma may see a permanent West Ham exit to Lyon thwarted by a transfer ban on the French club. @TheAthletic And Julen Lopetegui wants to keep Ben Johnson at West Ham this summer. It was expected that the 24 year old would definitely leave the club after turning down several offers, but it appears backing from the new manager has swayed his thinking."

"So once we manage to field a full West Ham XI consisting of Brazilians, we can chant next season without any hint of irony ""it's just like watching Brazil"". What's all their betting history like!?"

"Being reported a bid has gone in for a 3rd Brazilian… “Overnight it emerged that the Hammers have also bid for Brazilian forward Rwan Seco – also known as Rwan Cruz – of Bulgarian side Ludogorets. According to Brazilian journalist Andre Hernan, West Ham have bid around £7.5m for the 23-year-old ex Santos and Vasco da Gama forward.” “Former Santos and Vasco, Rwan Seco receives an offer of 9 million Euros (£7.5m) from West Ham in England!” Hernan reports. “The English club awaits a response from Ludogorets in Bulgaria, the Brazilian’s club, to carry out the operation! “Last season there were 17 goals and 7 assists!”"

Obviously we see & seek out our rumours but we seem to have been linked with more players than the other 19 clubs added together Would be great to have all deals sorted before preseason (first week in July?)

"Bit surprising all these clubs apparently suddenly wanting Vitao now when they could have signed him on a free a few months ago as his Shakhtar contract expires this summer and Internacional have only got him on a pre-contract. Still, €8m is peanuts these days I suppose. You could end up paying more than that in a bumped up salary for someone on a free contact."

"Now for the bad news regarding Vitao link... More exclusive information regarding the imminent departure of defender Vitão to European football. Earlier we revealed that Real Betis withdrew the offer they had made for the defender and Inter received offers from West Ham, worth 8 million euros, and Villarreal, worth 8 million euros plus a bonus. The new exclusive is that Giuliano Bertolucci's partner, Kia, who is the main agent in English football, is handling the Inter defender's move to West Ham. Because of this, at this moment the English team that recently gave up Fabrício Bruno, from Flamengo, appears as the main favorite to sign him. Inter wants to receive 10 million euros clean. In the 5-year pre-contract signed between the parties, which was also revealed exclusively by the Revista report, it was defined that Inter would have 80% of Vitão's pass, while its representatives would have 20%. https://twitter.com/RevistaColorada/status/1798426841847325079 I think I wanna vomit.."

By all accounts Guilherme is nearly done. Steidten is determined to return from Brazil with a CB and the latest offering is Vitão. He’s 24 and from his YouTube highlights looks quite useful. Better than Bruno at first glance. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=448xMi6EXpw&pp=ygUGVml0w6Nv

"One thing is clear with regards to Lopetegui and Steidten and that's they are not fucking about. They've been so proactive and aggressive in the market long before it's officially open in 2 weeks time. When Lopetegui stated to everyone ""We are going to make a big, big noise"", he weren't lying. And this is just the start.... Can't speak for any of you lot, but I'm fucking buzzing for the new season and what the future holds for us and I was a big Lopetegui fan before it looked like we was actually getting him. The money looks to be there, the management is also there I.e. Lopetegui, Steidten, Noble and it's just about getting the right additional players now to compliment some serious players we already have in Bowen, Kudus, Paqueta (should he be playing) and now the likes of Guilherme and probably Garcia and Omoridions ilk."

Agree Stowie These players should not feature any longer as first choices and imo Soucek should be moved on. Zouma too but cannot see anyone wanting a cripple on his wages. Coufal is an ok back up / squad player.

"If we’re gonna play possession football (I don’t think the style will be that different personally) but if we are then Coufal is one of the worse culprits for giving the ball away needlessly. Him, Zouma & Soucek can’t play in a side that dominate the ball."
