Good point regarding the natural use of a left footed Centre Half as Lopetegui is known for quick diagonal switching of wing play without faffing about on the ball 1st. So that will be important to Lopetegui's style of football.

"I imagine that the fact that Kilman is left footed might add a premium too. Moyes said a couple of years ago that he and Eddie Howe were discussing left footed centre backs and both agreed that Botman and Aguerd were the best available on the market at the time. Personally I don't get why it's so important. Aguerd might have a decent left peg but his other one is so awful that it's too easy to turn him. I'd rather get someone who's reasonably two footed. That said, among the top teams in the PL I reckon only Liverpool don't have a left footed centre back and that's probably only because they have VVD who is really two footed."

"If we're stupid enough the buy Kilman for the £45m Wolves are demanding for him, it would make him the 10th most expensive centre back in the history of world football."

"Can't see the Kilman thing. I mean this England team is DEVOID of real talent at CB, and you have am English left sided CB and he can't get anywhere near the England squad. 40m seems way over blown, especially anytime before we've got a concrete offer in for Aguerd. Greaves seems way more likely."

"But I'm getting at what value should he be then with all that in mind, not that I rate him? £40M for what he offers seems to be the going rate."

"What is the English Tax would people say, between £5M-£10M? Kilman is also a vastly Premier League experienced almost ever present combative Centre Half having produced it between the ages of 22-26yo with 127 Premier League apps and over 150 senior apps overall already. He's reliably fit and a tall, strong Defender who doesn't look out of place when faced against the best Forwards around. No medical history that spends time in the physioroom. He's also a regular Captain that was 1st made Captain by Lopetegui and carried on happily by O'Neil and 1 already accustomed to Lopetegui's expectations on the pitch. He's also happens to be a quality Centre Half too who can play on the ball and doesn't hoof it in panic and good in the air. In today's market where we paid about £30M for Aguerd, I don't think once all considered £40M for Kilman is totally unreasonable."

"I'm glad Steidten got his man, will set him up nicely for the summer. I won't get too carried away just because he's Brazilian, but as said before he's highly rated, physical, with great ability, so I would say the chances of him being a success are defo greater than it not working out. I highly doubt we will pay 40 mil for Kilman. Then again they are talking about getting in 30 mil for the Moroccan clown, and maybe a few quid for Zouma, so you never know, but imagine we would bid around 30."

"Few reports recently linking us with Kossounou at Leverkusen. Centre back. Anyone remember if he's the massive fucker that was all elbows and filthy challenges against us? I begrudgingly thought he was excellent and really smashed our players around. The only other defender I remember was Tah, and I couldn't believe how slow he looked. And now off to Bayern by all accounts, so what do I know."

"Luis Guilherme has signed all the documents and he can be considered new West Ham player, strongly wanted by Tim Steidten. Here we go, confirmed. Well that's 1 Steidtens got in the bag, now for the other 18 players we still need..."

£40m for uncapped 27yo Kilman is way too much We'll be having our pants pulled down if Wolves get that much

"Steidten is apparently a big fan of this chap and wanted to get him last summer but think it got vetoed in the end. Maybe will be interested again... FabrizioRomano Youssouf Fofana, expected to leave AS Monaco but currently not on Paris Saint-Germain shortlist. PSG are looking at different kind of players in that position, based on Luis Enrique’s requests. Premier League clubs keep monitoring him."

Lopetegui (rightly) rates Kilman higher than Wolves fans. It was him that 1st made him Captain to help steer them away from the bottom of the League and do well last season for O'Neil too as Captain. I'd take both their judgements on Kilman than any bitter Wolves fan when it comes to Lopetegui/Wolves. For what it's worth I have little issue with paying £40M+ for Kilman in today's market.

"Another day, another link to another right footed left winger. Fabrizio Romano @FabrizioRomano 🚨🇦🇷 Understand West Ham are among clubs showing concrete interest in Matias Soulé. Argentine winger could leave Juventus an case of important proposal this summer, all options are still open. West Ham have been monitoring Soulé progress in Serie A this year."
