"I agree with Rossal. Especially with no Europe this season, I don't see Johnson and Cresswell as good enough to be part of the squad. They might have got away it in the conference league but I wouldn't even want them out against championship opposition in the FA/league cup. People got carried away with 5 minute spells where Johnson looked ok in various roles but for the wages we are talking just let him go"

The Johnson situation reminds me of Tomkins he needs to play and I don’t blame him to move on. He probably knows he hasn’t improved due to not playing enough.

"I like Johnson. Still young and can clearly play, but is a confidence player. Needs more game time and a manager who trusts him. We do need the numbers, but I don’t think Lopetegui and Steidten would sanction a 5 year contract just to bolster the squad."

I’m also in the give-him-a-chance camp as re. Johnson. Think he’ll come good in a side playing positive football rather than what we’ve been seeing recently

"I disagree Rossal. We had a very thin squad last year then we let 3 players go in January. I would have kept some of the out of contract players in just to provide some depth and some options. If we lost Cresswell and Johnson, as well as Ogbonna, from a squad that is already very thin. It just makes it a much bigger job than it needs to be. For me, it makes sense to keep a few of those players around and add to them, rather than having to completely rebuild the squad."

"Massive Attack 2:56 Fri Jun 14 Gutting if we resign Johnson, him and Cresswell should have been let go and replaced. Doesnt seem like new full backs are on JLO shopping list which is extremely disappointing and worrying to be honest"

"I appreciate this is a rumours and gossip thread, but fuck me there is more chance of me playing for us next season than Raheem 'fucking' Sterling. I still fancy there might be legs in the Zaha link, and won't be shocked if we sniffed around Bergwijn again."

"Johnson considers option with new West Ham deal on table Latest from Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth: West Ham United defender Ben Johnson is considering all of his options before deciding on his next move. A five-year contract is on the table from West Ham. A number of clubs in the Premier League and Europe have held talks with his representatives. Johnson is out of contract this summer. It's understood his final decision will not be financially motivated. At 24, he wants to play regularly and develop his game."

"Isn’t Sterling on £300k a week? No chance Thank God! Selling Palmer may have been a mistake but moving on Sterling, Jesus & Zinchenko was good business. Grealish next if he has any sense"

"Apparently Hummels was disgusted with how they set up whenever they were going against the better teams in the league: having 11 men in their own box and playing like they were an inferior team against teams like Stuttgart and Leverkusen. I make him right. Terzić will probably get a decent job somewhere or other. Anyone who gets to a Champions League final is always in line for the high profile jobs, regardless of league form and other factors, eg Pochettino."

"LJC 3:16 Thu Jun 13 Since leaving Chelsea, Sterling has managed 6g, 3a in his first season and 8g, 4a in his second. Unless he costs less than JWP (7g, 7a last season), then no thanks. He needs class all around him to perform, and we can see what Man City thought of his contributions."

"I see that Edin Terzić has parted company with Dortmund. Him and Mat Hummels didn't agree on playing style and it would appear that the club have sided with Hummels. Terzić turned down the opportunity to speak to us about our managerial vacancy, granted the timing wasn't great with CL final coming up. Will be interesting to see where he goes next."

"I have a friend who is a Udinese supporter ( he grew up there ) and who is a youth trainer in Venice. I asked him about Nehuen Perez: ""Not bad. Is a good defender. He Is 23 Years old. He was one of the players saving Udinese from Serie B"" For what its worth. Welcome Guilherme. Lets hope you're good son."

"Sport Witness Player going to London and West Ham is ‘concrete’ – Contact in place, value of deal known Thursday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport reports Nehuen Perez leaving Udinese and ‘heading towards’ London and West Ham this summer is a ‘concrete’ scenario. The Hammers have been linked with multiple defenders in recent weeks, indeed they’ve been linked with far more players than most other Premier League clubs. Many of those have been in South America, and whilst the Udinese player may not fit that bill, he is Argentine so we’re halfway there. At the beginning of the week it was made known in Italy that West Ham were keen on Perez and had made contact to find out the conditions of a deal. Then Tuesday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport said the price would be €20m. Udinese are already looking for a replacement and it’s stated Matias Moreno, who plays for Belgrano in Argentina, is a serious option. The Serie A side are unlikely to move for him until they know for certain what’s happening with 23-year-old Perez, so it’s over to West Ham for their next move now."

A rumour circulating this morning that we are in for Sterling. I can’t see that a) he would want to come here and b) that we could match his wages
