"Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread I’m not sure why you would be worried about u21s leaving, what club has 3 or 4 in their prem team? Any that really have potential need to play,so important that they get loaned out or get in the first team squad. --- Despite challenging for the title, Liverpool had about 9-10 players who played for the first team last season who are 21 or under and came from the youth teams. Some of them played a decent amount of times too, like Harvey Elliot (34), Jarrell Quansah (17) and Conor Bradley (11)"

Spurs sign Archie Gray from Leeds for £30m & unload the donkey Rodon for £10m. Superb business Understand Gray had a buyout triggered if Leeds didn’t get promoted Good work by his agent

Understand both Mubama & Ben Johnson were offered new contracts Mubama didn’t look up to it & read that Johnson was guaranteed first team football by some clubs presumably including Ipswich Thought Johnson hadn’t progressed at all over the last couple of seasons so not losing any sleep over them both leaving

"I think it's more the trend of youth players leaving that is the worrying thing here, whether we rate them or not. But I' hoping that Lopetegui will give more opportunities. For the record, there are very few strikers that have looked good under the Moyes era, if any? So I definitely would have given Mubama a chance under the new manager (if he thought he was worth keeping)."

"Apparently the club did the best they could to keep Mubama, offered him a very good deal and even Sullivan spoke to him (yea I know) but his agent wasn't having it. Personally I thought he looked shit. Ipswich now in for Downes,"

"Manuel 10:01 Sun Jun 30 Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread After losing Fornals and Kehrer, Benrahma will go, and Ogbonna, Johnson and Mubama all leave the club today, the Leeds fraud has gone. Downes is back but nobody in aside from the Brazilian kid. Time to get a fucking move on. --- Agree Manuel. This is going to be some rebuild by Lopetegui. We have to expect there will be some underwhelming signings too, like Fodders. With 5-6 players on their way out of an already weak squad, we'll need 6-7 players and it will be tough to sign world beaters for each of them. That's not a bad thing, I just think we need to be ready for a few of these signings not to be that exciting in order to ensure we've got a squad for next season. One of the reasons I expect we retained Cresswell, otherwise that's another player we need to bring in this summer. Could be a transition season but I'll take that if I see that there is an improvement in the way we play and we show promise."

These PSR and FFP rules are too easily avoided re the cash/oil rich clubs. Reading of Newcastle and Villa paying big money for players no one have heard of. A crock of shit these rules.

As Leverkusen have shown this season and Switzerland and Austria have just shown in the Euros you don’t need to have superstars costing tens of millions in your team… you just need to be a team and have a coach that can get the very best out of the players available.

"I get that it's still reasonably early but considering we need a number of players and Lop apparently wants them in by time pre season starts we need to get a move on having only signed the Brazilian kid who is very unlikely to be a starter. Are we seriously in for anyone apart from Kilman, and that looks unlikely to happen? if we like Greaves then what are we waiting for? if we want Zaha at 10 mil then what are we waiting for? Whose the new striker?"

Kilman is too expensive I’d rather we looked at a couple of the players from European teams (Perez?) & Greaves from Hull who are £15m to £20m We got £11m for Kehrer and if we can get Zouma through a medical or to Saudi they not costing much net.
