Apparently Loppy asked for Kilman as his only requested signing. Knows him well from his time at Wolves and will make him captain.

Feel a bit for Mubama as he needed a loan last season and then looked way off in our 'system' of play. If he gets his head down and works hard he might have an alright career

"Would be great to know the roles everyone plays in the recruitment process. Seems we have improved the scouting, analysis and identification stage but who handles the bidding and negotiation and terms / conditions / instalments? Hmmmm, I think we all know or suspect who takes over. It can involve lots of agents these days of course and we know a “little chap in a Russian hat” who resents paying them a bean. This bid for the CB in France reeks of our owner’s MO. He’s the master of the derisory bid, and can dissolve goodwill and trust in an instant. Touche Comrad Sulllivan. ;-)"

Chasing after Kilman all summer and also going for Wilson. It's almost like nothing has changed at all.

"This centre back from Nice that we've bid for Todibo, very highly rated and wanted by Man U, but Ineos own both clubs so it's blocked. Apparently he's happy to sell to us... Does anyone else think it sounds a bit like a loophole with them buying him next year?"

"Slightly gutted losing Johnson, but not going to lose any sleep over seeing Mubama go. Didn't look like he could cut it at this level and I think he will have a career where he drops through the leagues and regrets rejecting our offer."

"Exile, good point about Potts. Obviously a gap between Div 1 and the Premiership in terms of time you get in the ball and the overall intensity but Lopetegui will hopefully use him in pre season and see if he shows enough to make the squad. Would be great to have a few home grown youth players in the ranks just to create a bit of a connection for us older fans who remember the game when ur team wasn’t just a corporate brand and success was not so closely related to how rich ur club or owners are."

"Yeah, no big loss with Mubama, and how many of these kids who have turned down contracts over the last few years have gone on and actually made a name for themselves? Another kid badly advised by his agent who is maybe more interested in a sign on fee elsewhere. good luck to him though, although expect it will be in div 1 that he finds his level."

"No sleep lost over Mubama leaving. I agree with Sir Alf but would go further - he will be lucky to get a game in League 1, never mind the Championship. I reckon Potts should be in and around the squad this season. He had an excellent loan experience at Wycombe and was their player of the year. The other promising youngsters would do well to follow his example, possibly in League 1 but ideally in the Championship."

The window only opened yesterday FFS. He's not going to walk away before a ball's even been kicked.

"I can see Lopetegui walking away unless he gets these deals done before the end of July He wanted them all done before the players came back for pre season, which is tomorrow We bought 1 player which we didn't really need This is classic Sullivan, who never sanctions players until deep in to August as he doesn't want to pay wages This is also why Lopetegui left Wolves as he was let down with failed promises"

"You can never write a young player off as some are “late developers”. But Mubama was miles off the physicality and technique required for the Premiership. He could perhaps go on and develop at a championship or div 1 team and blossom later ( e.g. Cullen, Reece Burke ) and play in the Premiership but his technique or lack of suggests to me he will do well to make a living in the Championship. Johnson has the physicality and shows flashesof promise but again another that struggled technically with accurate passing, instant ball control and crossing. A regular run in a side might see that improve and I think he could do a job in the Premiership for Ipswich but he’s not of the quality needed for a side that wants to keep the ball. Gray to Spurs for £30 million? Hmmm, I only saw him in the play offs but thought he was.too lightweight and not Prem level yet. But maybe they were off days but suspect he is an expensive punt which I hope goes horribly wrong :-)"

It’s a hard decision sometimes but you have to move youngsters on if you decide they aren’t going to make it as there is another group coming behind. The group mentioned below look promising but never looked likely to get an opportunity under Moyes Are they any worse than all the teenagers that Klopp gave opportunities to like Bradley & Mainoo at Man U? Hope to see Earthy at least more often

"Just to add, Mubama made the most appearances from any of our youth players with a grand total of 5."
