"Let's hope the likes of Potts, Earthy, Irving and Orford get integrated into the squad this season for as it stands we have a dearth of British players in the first team squad. Kilman, Ward-Prowse and Bowen. That's it."

"Agree LJC. Back up to Alvarez and energy / work rate in that centre needed. Maybe Irving, Potts or Orford could do a job ? And Earthy looking close to be ready to start getting minutes based on what we’ve seen in cameo appearances? But none of them are “beast” types but Loppy seems to want the “hunt in packs” gegenpress all over so it may well be that is the plan ? Which leads me to think he will prefer Cornet to Ings as the former has pace but only time will tell as always"

"Need a new cm although with what what downes offered, Irving will do exactly the same. I do feel we need a beast in the Center of the park, a box to box."

"So with Tobido, Duran and Bissaka all very close apparently and Nelson heavily linked we could have done the bulk of our business by this time next week. Assuming at least 2 or 3 youth players are going to be added to the fist team squad too. I would include in that the RB Junior Robinson who looks a player as back up as Coufal won't want to hang about as back up. One of the CBs to go, whoever we get an offer for so either Mav or Aguerd. Ings & Cornet? I think he'd rather keep Ings than Cornet as we'd still need an extra striker more than an extra winger if we sign Nelson and I think Ings will score goals in a different system. Would people be happy if all that comes to pass?"

"“Baby Faced Nelson” would be ideal in midfield. Takes no prisoners. Well in the pre-PC version of the Beano, he was a character that took action ;-)"

Todibo wasn’t born in Africa was he? Lucky as according to that song by the Argentina team it might cast aspersions on his sexual preferences

The loan deal for Tobido makes sense as we ain't spending circa 70 mil on two CB's without Aguerd leaving. The player hoping for Juve to come in is hardly inspiring though.

"Nelson can hardly be put in the has been group, isn’t he 24? I see the latest figures being banded about are £15-£20m each for Nelson and AWB. So about £35m for two positions needing to be filled, young, homegrown, prem experience and wanting to play and play for us."

Sir Alf 3:04 Wed Jul 17 That's a sorry list on general. And you forgot Ljungberg who was another misfit to add. Also Ian Wright who was OK to be fair but was at end of his playing days. The only one I can think of who we got from them when at his peak was Hartson.

"I imagine that Steidten and his data bods look at a few more STATS than just his goals and appearances on Wikipedia. Specifically they've probably been targeting strikers who fit in with the way that Lopetegui wants to play, which if he stays true to form means playing the ball in from wide areas. Sorloth might be better suited than another striker with a better goals/games ratio but who relies on through balls, or balls over the top or whatever."

"It's crazy we've needed a striker for so many transfer windows, and we're still scrambling around for one. And Sorloth? Seems more miss than hit looking at his STATS."

"Lee Trundle 3:47 Wed Jul 17 Very good player, mate. If we do get him whilst Juve and Man Utd were sniffing around then that will be a coup. Sorloth I don't know too much about apart from the fact that his goal record in La Liga last season was very good. Looks lively and a powerful player. El Nesyri, well, linked with him since 2018. Good player but I have alwasy wondered if he will cut it in PL. Wan Bissaka I think would be a good signing but only for good value money. Looks like Man Utd want £15m for him Is that good value? Who knows. Since he went to Man Utd he's bit a bit of an enigma."

If Paqueta is getting a lengthy if not permanent ban could you see the Saudis paying his £85m buyout & letting him play no matter what FIFA say? Might be the best outcome I’d hope Kudus would be better than retiring to play football in the sandcastles but I guess £11m a year could tempt anyone If he wants to go I’d tell them it’s £200m.

"Hmmm... are the Saudis being encouraged to suck up talent playing for teams that could challenge the ""established"" PL Big 6?"
