"Do fans at other clubs go thru the pain we do every window? I've never had a conversation with a fan of a team which is not one of the rich 6 ( Newcastle not able to become rich 7th due to FFP and its ability to ""protect"" the 6 clubs that attempted to breakaway to be part of a Euro super league? Funny that? Almost as if its an appeasement to ensure they stay with the Prem ;-)) The reported interest, low ball bids then accepted bids followed by collapse due to player, agent demands etc? Its almost as if Sullivan or whoever signs off the finances play a game and when surprised that the club or player or both accept demands, they find another reason to not go ahead. Now I know there is some new FFP thing that says total fees / costs including transfer, player demands. agents etc. cannot be more than a certain percentage of revenue? Not sure what that percentage is and obviously our 280 million a year is 100-200 million less than the rich 6 so they can by definition have the pick of the quality that comes with a higher transfer fee package. But we just cannot get a deal to run smoothly and always seem to want to play ""hard ball"" or ""pull a fast one"" if poss? Or its simply that now out of Europe we are trying to shop in Waitrose still but can only afford Tesco or Aldi? Another factor is that Moyes left us with a swiss cheese of a squad and we need therefore to initially get some proven players in to fill basic, fundamental holes like RB, CB, forwards. ""Pearl diving"" comes about once you have a solid foundation. We are a way off that as it stands. But the harsh truth is that we have 6 players who, as many of us could see over the last few seasons, can only play in a low block. countering system a.k.a. ""Moyesball"". They are next to useless for Lopetegui. Namely: (1) Soucek ( committed, hard working but slow as your nan and technique and agility of Frankenstein), (2) Zouma ( ditto the Soucek Frankenstein reference albeit Frankenstein as a paraplegic), (3) Cornet was my great hope but now given minutes, he looks like his decline is permanent since that injury and he's looking lightweight and unable to run or trap a bag of cement. (4) Coufal, like Soucek, a great attitude and commitment but slow, old and not great technique. (5) Cresswell, just too old and slow. (6) Ings can control it and shoot but too old and slow. (7) Antonio, 34 years old and too old to play centrally and in a team that wants to keep possession has always lacked basic technique in terms of accurate passing and control. That said, Antonio could be a useful impact sub on 60 mins out wide as he still has some pace and a lot of strength and is direct. Positives? Well I'm not one for that as we all know but Potts and Orford, Earthy are there or thereabouts for squad inclusion but not automatic starters just yet. Desperately need, forward, RB, another CB, wide left midfielder ( Brazilian lad not ready yet ) and probably another central midfielder unless Potts proves he can be Alvarez's understudy? I saw a report that we had a 90 million budget ( including sales of Downes, Benrahma, Kehrer ) and 65 already spent? If so, we are in trouble so I'm inclined not to believe that and while it may mean Aguerd going, we hopefully have enough for the positions listed above. Anyway, a few dribbles in my dungarees but not a full drenching just yet. :-)"

From what I've seen of pre season goals are being given away by mistakes where players just can't receive the ball control it and make a good decision. There are players in the squad who really struggle with this. Zouma is one of them. Looks awkward and when pressed he struggles to pass to his own team. The team look a long way off playing the way the manager wants. Too many years of hoofball and low block counter. In theory players like Pacqueta would love the new system as it's how he plays but who knows if we will actually see him play next season. The last two Wolves goals were decent moves. The sort of thing we should ne looking to do.

Fofana in and Soucek out for a net £10m would be very good business. There must be multiple suitors for Tomas

"Rumours we're in for Fofana now at 35m EUR. Should have got him last season if not for the idiot Jock. Hopefully get AWB over the line. Duran turned down Saudi because he wants us. Lots of twists and turns left in this window. What is clear is we still have budget given the level of offers we're putting in for CBs, MFs and Duran."

"I'm hoping the strategy is that we have secured our second/third choice finds in principle but are aiming higher and these are the current targets that will not move until a lot of negotiating is done or other deals are completed higher up the chain. Until Loppy gets in a solid set of players he can do a job with and confirms who he can use in the current squad. Steidtens work will not kick in, for now or indeed this window, I think he is working on purely giving Loppy his choices. From there and Loppy is happy he then goes on the look for finds out of nowhere. Tim's project won't kick in until there is a sturdy set of players for the manager which he & his team adds to with discoveries."

"Don’t worry lads. As long as the Baroness and the midget take all the decisions, the club is in good hands( NOT). I was pleased when Moyes left but I doubt whether Steidten will hang around to watch all his plans go down the toilet and ditto Lolop. Is Mr Potter still looking for a job?"

I am so fed up with our transfer policy if we even have one. Fucking useless as usual. We have needed a striker for at least four windows. Nothing in place and another season of dogshit looms. This bloke we are paying to sort this out is robbing a fucking living.

"So, same old story then. Sullivan can't agree terms with other agents than his bum boys? I'm sure we will get a few new faces including Wan Bissaka and some other striker, but it's Circus Sullivan pulling the threads"

That hammers news site is even worse than claretandhugh . At least the latter gives the supporters a chance to call out their nonsense. We literally miss out on 10 players a week to spurs according to them . It won't shock me in the slightest if steitden walks out before the end of the window. Dwarf only seems interested in salthouse and silkmans clients .

"So I see we got battered by Wolves last night. People still think I am mental to think we will be in a relegation battle this season? I can see it coming a mile off. The squad is a shambles and we have only signed a centre half and an 18 year old, unproven Brazilian kid."

Zouma’s next team should be Thunderbirds FC or in a stage role as the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz Can’t move or turn with that knee Unfortunately will never get him through a medical

"Kilman is very two footed, so much so that he played on the right of a back 3 last year. It was a good idea to buy someone who can partner up with anyone at the back."

"Oneside - Yea i thought of that but Kilman can probably play either side or maybe he has other ideas, as not sure we would spent 40 mil on Kilman and gamble that Aguerd would defo leave."

"Aguerd can't play on the right side of a two, so if the intention is to play the two of them together you'd have thought we'd have been better buying a right sided centre back rather than Kilman"

"Not understood the Aguerd situation Does he want to leave or is it us trying to shift him? Wouldn’t be against him, Kilman, Mavro & one other. Maybe Chalobah if none of these Europeans work out. Zouma out & Casey in the squad for experience"

"Apparently Aguerd has been looking sharp pre season, so maybe Lop is now considering asking him to stay and play with Kilman instead of selling him and finding his replacement?"

Chalobah from Chelsea and shipping out Zouma or Aguerd would be a good move. Gallagher can’t be a realistic target. His name gets mentioned every window yet he was the clubs captain for large parts of last season.
